Description

Geekvape Z Coils: Z Series Mesh Coils for Zeus Sub-Ohm Tanks

Geekvape Z coils are GeekVape’s standard Z Series mesh heads – once boxed as Zeus or Mesh Z coils – for the Z sub-ohm tanks that come with the Aegis Legend and Aegis Solo mods. Each pack holds five, and we list the Z0.15, Z0.2, Z0.25 and Z0.4.

They are KA1 (kanthal) mesh coils for direct-to-lung vaping at 45W and up. Further down we compare them with the longer-life Geekvape Z XM coils, which fit the same tanks.

Z Coil Resistances and Wattage

The rating is etched on each coil. The Z0.25 is a dual mesh; the others are single mesh. Stock varies by resistance.

Coil Resistance Wattage Build
Z0.15 0.15Ω See note below Mesh
Z0.2 0.2Ω 70–80W KA1 single mesh
Z0.25 0.25Ω 45–57W KA1 dual mesh
Z0.4 0.4Ω 50–60W KA1 mesh
White Vape Co recommends: the Z0.2 is the all-rounder – the coil GeekVape fits in the Aegis Solo 3 kit – with big, warm clouds at 70–80W. For a gentler lung hit, the Z0.25 or Z0.4. On the 0.15: GeekVape makes three 0.15Ω Z coils – the KA1 Z0.15 (80–90W), the Z0.15 XM (70–85W) and the Z0.15 SS316L (60–70W) – so set your mod to the rating on your box.

Which Tanks and Kits Take Geekvape Z Coils?

Any GeekVape tank designed for Z coils takes every coil on this page.

GeekVape’s chart for the Aegis L200 Legend 3 kit marks all four standard Z coils compatible with its Z Fli tank. The Aegis Solo 3 kit comes with standard Z coils – a Z0.2 fitted and a Z0.4 spare – and the Aegis Legend 5 kit ships with XM coils, but its Z sub-ohm tank takes these just as well.

All three spare tanks we sell take them too: the flip-top Geekvape Z Fli tank, the child-lock Z Sub-Ohm SE tank and the Z Sub-Ohm Tank 5. So do the Z Sub-ohm 2021 tanks in the older Aegis Legend 2, Solo 2 (S100), Max 2 and T200 kits.

Will not fit: the Z Max tank (M Series coils), the Z Nano 2, Z Nano 3 and Z Nano MTL (B Series coils), or the Obelisk 60, 65 and C. GeekVape also excludes the Z0.25 from the P Subohm tank.

How to Fit and Prime a Geekvape Z Coil

  1. Empty the tank or turn it upside down, then unscrew the base.
  2. Remove the old coil and wipe away any liquid.
  3. Wet the new coil: a drop on top of the cotton and a couple through each side window.
  4. Fit it flush in the base, reassemble and fill. GeekVape advises three to five minutes’ soak before firing.

Geekvape Z coil 0.25 ohm KA1 mesh, rated 45-57W
The Z0.25 dual mesh, 45–57W.

How Long Does a Geekvape Z Coil Last?

GeekVape doesn’t publish a figure for the standard Z coils, and we won’t invent one. The lower the resistance and the higher the wattage, the sooner a coil wears: a Z0.15 at 80W goes faster than a Z0.4 at 50W, and sweet, dark e-liquids clog any mesh sooner.

Geekvape Z Coil Troubleshooting

Problem Likely cause and fix
Dry hit on the first puff The wick wasn’t wet. Prime the side windows and wait a few minutes.
Spitback Too much liquid in the coil. A few unpowered pulls with the airflow open clears it.
Mod says “No atomiser” Check the coil is screwed into the base and the 510 pin is clean.

Best E-Liquids for Geekvape Z Coils

Z coils are for lung vaping, so think low nicotine and plenty of vapour: a higher-VG shortfill with a nicotine shot at around 3mg. GeekVape’s current advice for the Z XM range is freebase at 3mg or less and no nic salts, and we’d follow the same rule here. Our beginner’s guide to vape coils explains why.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are Geekvape Z coils compatible with?

GeekVape’s Z tanks – the Z Fli, Z Subohm, Z Subohm 2021, Z Subohm SE and Z Subohm Tank 5 – plus the Obelisk, Obelisk 120FC, Obelisk 200 and P Subohm.

Are Zeus coils the same as Z coils?

Yes. GeekVape renamed its Zeus coils the Z Series. Older boxes say Mesh Z1 (0.4Ω) and Mesh Z2 (0.2Ω).

What is the difference between the Z0.2 and Z0.25?

The Z0.2 is a single mesh coil for 70–80W. The Z0.25 is a dual mesh coil for 45–57W, so it suits a smaller mod or a cooler vape.

How many coils are in a pack?

Five.
