Description

Coil Jig Kit: Four Hexagonal Jigs From 2.0 to 3.5mm

A coil jig kit with four hexagonal-handled jigs, each with a different diameter head: 2.0, 2.5, 3.0 and 3.5mm. Wrap your wire round the head, turn the handle, and you get an even, consistent coil every time.

The handles are stainless steel and the heads stainless iron. The hexagonal handle stops the jig rolling off the bench, and doubles as a screwdriver for adjusting coils in the deck.

What Size Coil Do I Need?

Check your atomiser’s recommended coil diameter. Bigger coils hold more cotton and e-liquid; smaller ones heat faster.

RDAs we stock that take a hand-wrapped coil: the Innokin Thermo, the Vandy Vape Iconic and the Uwell Nunchaku RDA kit.

How to Wrap a Coil on a Jig

  1. Choose your jig size and wire.
  2. Hold the wire against the head and wrap it evenly, with the wraps touching (a contact coil) or spaced.
  3. Count your wraps, and make both coils identical for a dual build.
  4. Leave the jig in while you fit the coil to the posts, then slide it out.
  5. Trim the leads flush and pulse to check it glows evenly.

Looking After Your Jigs

Keep the heads clean and dry. They’ll last as long as you build.

Wrapping Tips

Problem Likely cause and fix
Uneven wraps Keep tension on the wire as you turn.
Coil springs open Pulse it and squeeze it gently to set its shape.
Mismatched dual coils Count the wraps and use the same length of wire for both.

Build Safety

Before you fire any build, read its resistance on a regulated mod and check your battery can take the current. Current is voltage divided by resistance: a fully charged cell at 4.2V across a 0.2Ω build draws 21A, more than many 18650s are rated for. If you’re not sure, bring the atomiser in and we’ll read it for you.
