Description

UD Ceramic Tip Tweezers: for Squeezing Hot Coils and Wicking

Coil-building tweezers from UD with ceramic tips. Ceramic doesn’t conduct electricity, so you can pinch a coil while you pulse it to squeeze out hot spots, without shorting the build.

They’re also for the fiddly part of wicking: threading cotton through the coil and tucking the tails into the well.

Use Adjusting coils, removing hot spots, wicking
White Vape Co recommends: pulse at low power and pinch the coil gently between pulses until it glows evenly from the centre outwards.

What Are They For?

Adjusting and tightening coils on RDAs, RTAs and rebuildable decks, and handling cotton when you wick.

RDAs we stock that you’ll use them on: the Innokin Thermo, Vandy Vape Maze, Vandy Vape Iconic and the Uwell Nunchaku RDA kit.

Where Tweezers Fit in a Build

  1. Wrap your coil on a jig, then fit it into the posts and tighten the screws.
  2. Trim the leads flush with cutters.
  3. Read the resistance on a regulated mod, then pulse at low power and squeeze out any hot spots with ceramic tweezers.
  4. Thread cotton through the coil, trim it, and tuck the tails into the well.
  5. Prime the cotton with e-liquid, fit the cap and start low.

Looking After Your Tweezers

Ceramic is hard but brittle. Don’t drop them on tiles, and don’t lever with the tips. Wipe residue off once they’ve cooled.

Coil Tips

Problem Likely cause and fix
Hot spots won’t go Pulse lower and squeeze between pulses, not during a long fire.
Coil deforms Squeeze more gently, and support it with the jig.
Chipped tip Replace the tweezers: a chipped tip can snag the coil.

Build Safety

Before you fire any build, read its resistance on a regulated mod and check your battery can take the current. Current is voltage divided by resistance: a fully charged cell at 4.2V across a 0.2Ω build draws 21A, more than many 18650s are rated for. If you’re not sure, bring the atomiser in and we’ll read it for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why ceramic tweezers for vaping?

Ceramic doesn’t conduct, so you can squeeze a coil while you pulse it.

Can I use them on a hot coil?

Yes; that’s what ceramic tips are for. Pulse at low power.

Are they good for wicking?

Yes, for threading cotton and tucking in the tails.

Can I use metal tweezers instead?

Not while pulsing: metal conducts and can short the coil.
