VOOPOO PnP TR1 Coil 1.2 Ohm: The Tightest MTL Draw in the PnP Range

The VOOPOO PnP TR1 coil is the highest-resistance coil VOOPOO makes for its PnP platform: 1.2Ω, 10–15W and a firm, cigarette-style mouth-to-lung pull. Each pack holds five coils. It was created together with the PnP-TM2 for the V.Suit, and it’s one of the two coils VOOPOO built the PnP MTL Pod around.

PnP TR1 at a Glance

VOOPOO gives the TR1 the same 10–15W rating on its PnP Pod II, Drag H40 and V.Suit pages, and prints it on the coil. It doesn’t agree with itself on the construction – one page says regular wire, others say mesh – so we simply call it an MTL coil.

Which Pods Does the PnP TR1 Fit?

The TR1 appears on VOOPOO’s coil tables for the V.Suit, the Drag H40 and its PnP Pod II, and the Drag S and Drag X.

For the classic TR1 set-up, pair it with the VOOPOO PnP MTL Pod – VOOPOO designed that pod around the TR1 and TM2, and it fits the V.Suit, Drag S and Drag X. The TR1 is also on the coil list for the VOOPOO Drag H40 PnP 2 Vape Kit, so you can fit it in the PnP Pod 2 and use the H40’s MTL drip tip for a tight nic salt vape. The original PnP Pod for the Drag S and Drag X takes it too.

The Vinci and Vinci R are described by VOOPOO as taking all PnP coils, so the TR1 will go into the Vinci replacement pods, though VOOPOO’s Vinci pages don’t name it. For the Vinci Air, use the PnP R2 instead – VOOPOO doesn’t list the TR1 for it.

Will not fit: PnP X cartridges or PnP X devices (Drag S2, Drag X2) – different coil system – and TPP pods.

How to Fit and Prime a PnP TR1 Coil

1. Remove the pod and pull out the spent coil.
2. Wet the new TR1: a few drops of liquid into the top of the coil and onto the side wicking holes.
3. Press it firmly into the pod’s base until it stops.
4. Fill up, refit the pod and wait around five minutes. VOOPOO’s own V.Suit guidance is three to five.
5. Take a couple of short draws at 10W before settling on your wattage.

How Long Does a PnP TR1 Coil Last?

There’s no official figure, but low power is kind to cotton, and the TR1 is usually the longest-lasting coil we sell for PnP pods – commonly around two weeks on clear or lightly sweetened nic salts. Dessert and candy flavours coat it faster. When the flavour dulls or turns bitter even after a refill, fit the next one from the pack.

Best E-Liquids for the PnP TR1

The TR1 is made for nic salts – 20mg if you are switching from smoking, 10mg once you’ve cut down. It also works well with 50/50 freebase from our 10ml e-liquids at 6–18mg. Does the TR1 fit the Vinci Air?

VOOPOO doesn’t list it for the Vinci Air, so we don’t recommend it. The R2 is the Vinci Air’s MTL coil.

Which PnP coil is best for flavour?

For nic salts, the TR1 – tight, low-power and clean. For a warmer MTL taste, the TM2; for a lung hit, the VM3 at 28–30W.
