Description
VOOPOO PnP VM5 Coil 0.2 Ohm: Big Clouds at 40-60W
The VOOPOO PnP VM5 coil is a 0.2Ω mesh coil for proper cloud-chasing, rated 40–60W and sold five per pack. VOOPOO ships it as a kit coil in the Drag S, and pairs it with the VM6 in the Argus GT – the combination VOOPOO calls the strongest in the PnP series.
That power is the catch: the VM5 needs a device that can reach at least 40W and preferably more, so it’s not for every PnP pod. The fitment section below spells out where it works, and where it doesn’t.

Which Pods and Devices Take the VM5?
VOOPOO’s applicable-products list for the VM5 names the Drag S and Drag X, and the coil is on the PnP Pod II table and ships in the Argus GT.
On the Drag S and Drag X, fit the VM5 in the VOOPOO PnP Pod – it’s the Drag S’s kit coil. It’s also on the PnP Pod 2 coil table, so it suits the higher-powered Drags that use that pod: the VOOPOO Drag H80S and Drag E60, both of which VOOPOO also lists for the TW20, a coil with a similar power range.
The Argus GT ships with a VM5, paired with the VM6. The one Drag we’d steer you away from is the Drag H40: its 40W is the bottom of the VM5’s range, and VOOPOO doesn’t list the coil for it.
Will not fit: the Drag H40 (40W maximum; VOOPOO doesn’t list the VM5 for it), the PnP MTL Pod (0.3Ω and above only), the Vinci Air (0.45Ω minimum) or any PnP X product.
How to Fit and Prime a PnP VM5 Coil
- Remove the pod and pull out the old coil.
- The VM5 carries a lot of cotton: soak it well, with drops through the top and all the side holes.
- Seat the coil in the pod with a firm push.
- Fill, then leave at least five minutes – low-resistance mesh coils punish a short soak.
- Start around 42W, check the taste, then climb.
How Long Does a PnP VM5 Coil Last?
VOOPOO doesn’t give a lifespan. Sub-ohm coils at 40–60W work hard, and most of our VM5 customers change coils every four to seven days depending on the liquid. Custard and bakery shortfills clog mesh fastest; fruit and menthol last longer. The sign is a thinner cloud and a muted taste.
VM5 Troubleshooting
| Problem | Likely cause and fix |
|---|---|
| Weak, warm-ish vapour | Not enough power. Go above 45W, or use the VM1 on lower-powered devices. |
| Dry hits when chain-vaping | The wick can’t keep up. Use 70/30 liquid and leave a few seconds between draws. |
| Spitting | Open the airflow fully and avoid thin 50/50 liquids. |
| Coil not detected | Push it fully home and clean the pod’s contact. |
VM5 vs TW20
| VM5 | TW20 | |
|---|---|---|
| Resistance | 0.2Ω | 0.2Ω |
| Wattage | 40–60W | 40–55W |
| Tech | Mesh | Mesh with Dual-In-One |
| Pitch | Kit coil for the Drag S | VOOPOO’s suggested coil for the PnP Pod II |
Same resistance, similar power. VOOPOO says its TW coils use less liquid for the same vapour.
Best E-Liquids for the PnP VM5
This is a 3mg or 6mg coil. VOOPOO recommends 10mg or lower, and at 50W even 6mg is plenty for most. Use a 70/30 shortfill e-liquid – thinner liquids spit and flood at this resistance. Nic salts at 10–20mg don’t belong in a 0.2Ω coil.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the VM5 fit the Drag H40?
It will physically fit the PnP Pod II, but the H40 stops at 40W, the bottom of the VM5’s range, and VOOPOO doesn’t list it for the H40. Use the VM1, VM3 or TW30 instead.
What wattage should the VM5 be at?
40–60W. Around 50W is a good starting point.
Is the VM5 good for nic salts?
No. VOOPOO recommends 10mg or lower; use low-strength freebase.
What is the difference between VM5 and VM6?
The VM5 is 0.2Ω at 40–60W; the VM6 is 0.15Ω at 60–80W. The VM6 needs more power and gives more vapour.
