Description
Geekvape Aegis Solo 3 Kit: 100W with a Built-In 3000mAh Battery
The Geekvape Aegis Solo 3 in this version has a built-in 3000mAh battery, so there are no cells to buy, charge separately or check for damaged wraps – plug in a Type-C cable and vape. It puts out 5–100W from the AS Chip 4.0, with GeekVape’s biosensing Smart Lock, six modes including Smart, Memory and Eco, a 0.96-inch screen and IP68 tri-proofing. The UK kit comes with a 2ml Z Sub-ohm 2021 tank and two Z coils.
GeekVape recommends the built-in version for beginners because it’s ready to use out of the box and needs little looking after, while the Aegis Solo 3 external battery version suits vapers who want to swap 18650s on long trips. Below: full specs, our coil pick, the coils and tanks that fit, setup, battery life, troubleshooting and the two versions compared.

Which Coils and Tanks Fit the Aegis Solo 3?
GeekVape lists six Z Series coils for the Solo 3, and it takes any 510 tank.
The Z Sub-ohm 2021 tank in the box runs Geekvape Z coils. The 0.2Ω (70–80W) and 0.4Ω (50–60W) come with it, and GeekVape’s Solo 3 list adds the Z0.25 (45–57W) and Z0.15 (80–90W). The longer-life Geekvape Z XM coils fit the same tank – GeekVape lists the Z0.15 XM and Z0.4 XM for the Solo 3.
Tank upgrades that take the same coils include the Geekvape Z Sub-Ohm Tank 5, the Z Sub-Ohm SE tank with its child-safety lock, and the flip-top Z Fli tank.
Will not fit: Geekvape B coils or pod cartridges – the Solo 3 is a 510 box mod for sub-ohm tanks.
Getting Started with the Aegis Solo 3
- Charge it fully over Type-C – the battery is built in, so there’s nothing to fit.
- Open the top-fill cap, fill the tank, close it and let a new coil soak for 3–5 minutes.
- Hold it naturally: the biosensor on the back detects your hand and unlocks it.
- Start in Smart mode, which pairs a power range to your Z coil; switch to Power for manual watts.
- Save favourite settings in Memory mode – up to five, including power, puff count and colour theme – and use Eco on long days.
Solo 3 Battery Life and Charging
3000mAh is a big battery for a single-cell-sized mod, and it charges at 5V/2A over Type-C. On the 0.4Ω coil at 50–60W, most of our customers get through a working day; at 80W on the 0.2Ω, expect to charge sooner. Eco mode manages battery use to stretch a session, and the AS Chip 4.0 keeps the output steady even when the battery is low, so the flavour holds up until you charge. The one trade-off of a built-in battery is that you can’t swap in a fresh cell – if you vape heavily away from a charger, the external version is the better fit.
Aegis Solo 3 Troubleshooting
| Problem | Likely cause and fix |
|---|---|
| Won’t fire | The Smart Lock reads your grip – hold it with your palm over the back. Check the screen for a lock icon. |
| Battery draining fast | Drop the wattage, try Eco mode or fit the 0.4Ω coil. |
| Burnt taste | Prime a new coil for 3–5 minutes and start at the bottom of its range. |
| Leaking | The top airflow keeps leaks rare; check the glass is seated and the coil is screwed in fully. |
| Can’t set high watts | Smart mode limits power to the coil’s range; use Power mode. |
Aegis Solo 3: Built-In vs External Battery
| Built-in (this kit) | External 18650 | |
|---|---|---|
| Battery | 3000mAh built in | One 18650, not included |
| Output | 5–100W | 5–100W |
| Charging | Type-C, 5V/2A | Type-C, or an external charger |
| Best for | Ready to use, low maintenance | Swapping cells on long days |
Everything else – Smart Lock, modes, screen, IP68 and the Z tank – is the same. See the Geekvape Aegis Solo 3 external battery kit if swappable cells suit you better.

Best E-Liquids for the Aegis Solo 3
The Solo 3 is a sub-ohm, direct-to-lung kit, so use 3mg or 6mg high-VG shortfill e-liquids, made up with a nic shot. Nic salts are best left for pod kits; our nic salts vs freebase guide explains why.
