Description
Innokin Coolfire Z80 NEX Kit: 80W, 18650 Power, Zenith M Tank
The Innokin Coolfire Z80 NEX is a compact 80W box mod kit that runs on a single replaceable 18650 battery, so you can swap in a charged cell instead of waiting at a plug. Innokin gives it a simplified 0.96-inch colour screen, fine 0.5W steps at the low end, a slide lock for the fire button and a chipset that holds its output steady as the battery runs down.
In the UK the kit comes with Innokin’s 2ml Zenith M tank rather than the global Zenith NEX, and it takes the whole range of Innokin Z coils. Innokin supplies a 0.8Ω coil for mouth-to-lung and a 0.3Ω for restricted lung. Below: specs, which coils and battery to use, setup, and answers to common questions.

Which Coils and Battery Fit the Coolfire Z80 NEX?
Innokin says the Zenith M takes every Z coil, and the mod needs one 18650 cell.
Refill heads are Innokin Z coils (5 pack). We stock several resistances; Innokin publishes wattages for the two it supplies with the Zenith M – 0.8Ω at 15–18W for MTL and 0.3Ω at 30–40W for restricted lung – so start there and ask us about the others.
The mod runs on one 18650. The Aspire 2600mAh 18650 battery is a 20A cell; buy two and you always have one charged.
Will not fit: Innokin T18E or Prism coils, or Aspire coils – they’re made for other tanks.

Setting Up the Coolfire Z80 NEX
- Fit a charged 18650 cell, following the markings in the battery bay, and close the door.
- Top it up in the mod over USB-C if needed – it takes 5V/2A.
- Give the Zenith M’s top cap a quarter turn, fill with e-liquid, close it and leave a new coil five minutes to soak.
- Set the wattage for the coil: 15–18W for the 0.8Ω, 30–40W for the 0.3Ω.
- Twist the airflow to taste, and use the slide lock whenever the kit goes in a pocket or bag.
Battery and Charging
Battery life depends on the 18650 you fit and the wattage you use, not the mod. At MTL power on the 0.8Ω a good cell goes a long way; at 40W on the 0.3Ω it runs down much faster. That’s the beauty of a replaceable cell: carry a charged spare and swap it in. Use a genuine high-drain 18650 from a reputable brand, and replace any cell with a torn wrap.
Coolfire Z80 NEX Troubleshooting
| Problem | Likely cause and fix |
|---|---|
| Won’t fire | Check the slide lock is off and the 18650 is fitted the right way round and charged. |
| Burnt taste | The wattage is above the coil’s range or the coil wasn’t primed. Stay at 15–18W on the 0.8Ω. |
| Leaking | Check the top cap is turned fully to lock and the coil is screwed in. |
| Tank won’t open to fill | Turn the top cap the full quarter turn. |
UK Kit vs Global Kit
Innokin sells the Z80 NEX with two tanks. Global kits have the Zenith NEX, which combines the fill port and airflow in one twist ring; UK kits have the 2ml Zenith M. Both take Z coils and the mod is identical, but many of Innokin’s official photos – including some on this page – show the global tank.
Coolfire Z80 NEX Colours
Innokin lists Rose Gold, Crimson Red, Black, Gradient Blue, Silver, Gunmetal, Turquoise and Purple. The colour options above show what we have in stock.

Best E-Liquids for the Coolfire Z80 NEX
On the 0.8Ω, use 10–20mg nic salts or 50/50 freebase from our 10ml e-liquids. On the 0.3Ω, switch to lower-strength freebase such as our shortfill e-liquids – a sub-ohm draw delivers far more vapour per puff. More on that in nic salts vs freebase.
