Description

Vaporesso ARMOUR MAX Kit: 220W Dual 21700 Mod with iTank 2

The Vaporesso ARMOUR MAX is the heavyweight of the ARMOUR range: a 5–220W box mod that takes two 21700 batteries, or two 18650s with the sleeves supplied, wrapped from mod to tank in shock-absorbing TPU. It’s built for experienced direct-to-lung vapers who want power in reserve, a full set of modes and a device that shrugs off drops and scratches.

The kit pairs the mod with Vaporesso’s iTank 2 sub-ohm tank and two GTi mesh coils, 0.2Ω and 0.4Ω. Vaporesso says the MAX delivers 54% more power than a dual-18650 mod while being 10% smaller than other dual-21700 mods. Below: specs, modes, battery advice, which coils and tanks fit, setup, troubleshooting, how it compares with the ARMOUR S and ARMOUR ULTRA, colours and box contents.

White Vape Co recommends: fit a matched pair of high-drain 21700s and start on the GTi 0.4Ω at 50–60W (Vaporesso’s best setting is 55W) for the best balance of flavour, coil life and battery. The 0.2Ω at 60–75W is there when you want bigger clouds. Treat the 220W ceiling as headroom, not a target: no GTi coil asks for more than 90W.

Which Coils and Tanks Fit the ARMOUR MAX?

Vaporesso pairs the ARMOUR MAX with two GTi-coil tanks: the iTank 2 in this kit, and the newer iTank T.

The iTank 2 in the kit takes our Vaporesso GTi coils 5 pack: the 0.2Ω and 0.4Ω from the box, the 0.15Ω for 75–90W and the 0.5Ω for a cooler 30–40W vape. Vaporesso says the iTank 2 is compatible with the whole GTi range.

For a replacement tank, the Vaporesso iTank 2 is the like-for-like. Vaporesso now also sells the ARMOUR MAX with the top-airflow Vaporesso iTank T, so that’s the upgrade; it takes the same GTi coils and fills by sliding the top open.

Will not fit: GTX coils, which are a separate platform from GTi.

Getting Started with the ARMOUR MAX

  1. Press the one-key release to open the battery door and fit two charged cells – 21700s straight in, or 18650s in the supplied sleeves. Use a matched pair and follow the polarity marks.
  2. The GTi 0.2Ω coil comes fitted in the iTank 2. Press the top of the tank so the fill port opens, fill it and close it.
  3. Leave the coil to soak for five minutes before firing.
  4. Set 60W for the 0.2Ω (or 50W for the 0.4Ω) and adjust from there; pick F(t), Pulse or Eco if you want the chip to shape the output.
  5. Fire with the Uni-Lock button, and use its lock function before the mod goes into a bag.

ARMOUR MAX Batteries and Charging

The MAX has no built-in battery, so its stamina is down to the cells you choose. Two 21700s carry considerably more energy than two 18650s and are what Vaporesso designed it around; the 18650 sleeves are there if you already own cells. Always use a matched pair of the same brand, age and charge, bought from a reputable source. You can charge in the mod at 5V/2A over Type-C, but an external charger from our battery chargers range balances the cells better and lets you keep a spare set ready. Pulse mode adds punch; Eco mode helps a charge go further.

ARMOUR MAX Troubleshooting

Problem Likely cause and fix
Won’t power on Check both batteries are charged, matched and the right way round, and that the battery door is fully closed.
Fires in a bag Use the Uni-Lock button’s lock function.
Burnt taste Prime the coil for five minutes and start at the bottom of its range – 50W on the 0.4Ω.
Tank leaking Check the coil is screwed in firmly and the glass and O-rings are seated; spare O-rings and glass come in the box.
Battery door stiff It opens with its single release button; don’t lever it.

Built to Take a Knock

Every surface of the MAX, and the protector around the tank glass, is TPU – a tough, slightly soft plastic that absorbs impacts and resists scratches. Vaporesso built it for drop and scratch resistance rather than water, so keep it out of the rain; if you need a mod that’s certified waterproof and drop-tested, that’s the ARMOUR ULTRA.

ARMOUR MAX Colours

Vaporesso lists nine finishes for the MAX: Black, Green, Orange, Silver, Yellow, Camo Blue, Camo Brown, Cyber Gold and Cyber Blue. We stock Green, Silver and Cyber Blue; the options above show live stock.

What’s in the Box

One ARMOUR MAX mod, an iTank 2, a GTi 0.2Ω mesh coil (fitted), a GTi 0.4Ω mesh coil, a spare glass tube, a tank protective cover (fitted), O-rings, two 18650 sleeves (inside the mod), a Type-C cable and the user manual. Batteries are not included.

Best E-Liquids for the ARMOUR MAX

Sub-ohm GTi coils want high-VG liquid and low nicotine. Our shortfill e-liquids at 3mg or 6mg are the natural fill for the iTank 2; keep nic salts for a pod kit, because a 220W-capable mod on a 0.2Ω coil delivers far more nicotine per puff than an MTL device.
