SMOK Nord 1.4 Ohm Regular Coils: The MTL Nord Coil
SMOK Nord 1.4 ohm regular coils are the round-wire, mouth-to-lung coil SMOK put in the box with the original Nord kit. SMOK rates the Nord Regular 1.4Ω at a maximum of 12W and calls it the perfect choice for MTL lovers. This pack holds five.
It is also one of the most widely compatible coils SMOK makes: every kit in SMOK’s Nord series takes it, including the RPM40 and Nord 2 through their Nord-coil pods. What it won’t fit is the newer Nord 4, Nord X or Nord 5 – the Nord name carried on after the coil changed.

Nord 1.4 Regular vs the Other Nord Coils
SMOK publishes a maximum power for each Nord coil on its Nord kit page. The Regular 1.4Ω has the lowest, which is why it is the one for a tight draw.

What Does the Nord 1.4 Coil Fit?
SMOK’s compatibility table lists the Nord series for the Nord kit, Nord 2 (Nord 2 Nord pod), RPM40 (RPM Nord pod), Fetch Mini (Nord pod), Alike (Nord pod), Nord 50W (Nord pod), Stick N18, Nord AIO 19 and 22, Vape Pen Nord 19 and 22, and Priv N19.
From our range, the SMOK Nord replacement pods are for the original Nord kit and the SMOK RPM Nord pod is the RPM40’s Nord-coil pod; both take this coil. We don’t sell a Nord-series device, so these pages are for owners.
If you run a Nord 4, Nord X or RPM 2 instead, look at our SMOK RPM coils or SMOK RPM 2 coils – the pod decides.
Will not fit: the Nord 4, Nord X, Nord 5, RPM 2 or any Novo. Those use RPM, RPM 2 or their own pods, and SMOK doesn’t list Nord coils for them.
How to Fit and Prime a Nord 1.4 Coil
- Pull the pod off the device and pull the old coil out of the pod’s base.
- Put two drops of e-liquid into the top of the coil and one on each wicking hole.
- Push the new coil into the base until it is fully home.
- Open the rubber plug on the side of the pod, fill, and press the plug back firmly.
- SMOK’s own advice: don’t vape straight after filling – let the device stand for two to three minutes so the cotton is saturated.
How Long Does a Nord 1.4 Coil Last?
With nic salts at 12W or less, a regular Nord coil is one of the longer-lived pod coils we sell – often one to two weeks. Very sweet or dark e-liquids shorten that. The coil is due when every puff tastes faintly burnt even with a full pod.

This coil was built for nic salts: 10mg or 20mg gives a cigarette-style hit. A 50/50 freebase from our 10ml e-liquids at 6mg to 18mg works too. Avoid thick high-VG shortfills; they wick too slowly through a 1.4Ω coil.
