Geekvape Aegis Hero 5 Pod Kit: 50W, 2000mAh and B Boost Coils
The Geekvape Aegis Hero 5 is the fifth Hero pod mod: a compact, shockproof Aegis body with a 2000mAh battery, 5–50W of adjustable power, a colour display and GeekVape’s new A-Lock switch, running replaceable Geekvape B Series coils. In the UK it comes with a 2ml top-fill Hero cartridge and two B coils in the new Boost version – a 0.4Ω fitted and a 0.2Ω spare – so it handles a restricted lung hit and a full direct-to-lung vape straight out of the box.
Compared with the Aegis Hero 2 (H45) it replaces, GeekVape quotes more than 40% extra battery, 5W more power and the longer-life Boost coil. It’s a tough step up from a disposable or basic pod, and a straight upgrade for Hero and H45 owners. Which Cartridge and Coils Fit the Aegis Hero 5?
The Hero 5 is a pod mod with a replaceable coil, so there are two parts to keep spare: the cartridge and the coils.
Spare cartridges are the Geekvape Aegis Hero 5 cartridge: empty, 2ml and top-fill, with no coil inside, so you move your coil across or fit a fresh one. GeekVape lists the Aegis Hero cartridge among the parts its B coils are made for.
Every Geekvape B Series coil the Hero 5 supports fits, from 0.2Ω to 1.2Ω. GeekVape says any device that took the older B coil takes the new Boost version, which lasts about twice as long, so coils from an Aegis Hero or H45 aren’t wasted.
Will not fit: Geekvape Z or Z XM coils – those are for Geekvape’s Z sub-ohm tanks on the Aegis box mods, not the Hero cartridge.
Setting Up the Aegis Hero 5
- Charge it first over Type-C – it takes 5V/2A.
- Pull the cartridge out, open the top-fill port and fill it, leaving a small air gap at the top.
- Give a new coil 3–5 minutes to soak before the first puff – that’s GeekVape’s own priming advice. A few drops of liquid straight onto the coil’s wicking holes before you fit it speeds things up.
- Refit the cartridge, switch on and set a wattage at the bottom of the coil’s range, then work up.
- Flick the A-Lock on before the Hero 5 goes into a pocket or bag.
Aegis Hero 5 Battery Life and Charging
At 2000mAh, the Hero 5 carries over 40% more charge than the 1400mAh H45, and it refills over Type-C at 5V/2A. How long it lasts depends almost entirely on the coil. An MTL coil at 12–16W barely touches the battery, and most people on nic salts get well past a day; the 0.4Ω at around 30W is a comfortable full day for most; and the 0.2Ω at 50W+ is thirsty, so heavy direct-to-lung vapers should expect to top up by the evening.
Aegis Hero 5 Troubleshooting

The Hero 5 is a few millimetres bigger to make room for the extra battery, and it keeps the same B coil family, so coils you already own will fit.

Best E-Liquids for the Aegis Hero 5
Match the liquid to the coil. On the MTL coils, 20mg nic salt e-liquids give the throat hit ex-smokers expect. On the 0.4Ω and 0.6Ω, drop to 10mg salts or 50/50 10ml e-liquids.
