SMOK V8 Baby Q2 EU Core Coils: 0.4 Ohm Dual Coil
The SMOK V8 Baby Q2 EU core is a 0.4Ω dual-coil head for the EU edition TFV8 Big Baby. SMOK describes it as bringing a deep, rich cloud taste and rates it 40–80W, best at 55–65W. UK retailers sell it three to a pack.
At 0.4Ω it is the highest-resistance V8 Baby core we stock, so it drinks less e-liquid and feels warmer and denser than the 0.15Ω options. Like every EU core, though, it’s made for the EU tank’s shorter chimney: it won’t go into a standard TFV8 Baby or Big Baby, which take the ordinary V8 Baby Q2.

Which Tank Takes the Q2 EU Core?
UK retailers list it for the EU edition TFV8 Big Baby only, one warning reads ‘for the T-Priv 2ml TFV8 Big Baby tank only’. SMOK’s card lists the TFV8 Baby as well as the EU Big Baby tanks; with the two sources disagreeing, we only claim the EU Big Baby. UK retailers describe the EU cores as having a thicker steel barrel and a different top thread, made to match the shorter chimney of the TPD-compliant EU edition tank.
The only other EU core we stock is the SMOK V8 Baby Mesh EU coil for the same tank. Owners of standard V8 Baby tanks should look at the V8 Baby Mesh or T12 Light.
Will not fit: the standard TFV8 Baby, standard Big Baby, TFV12 Baby Prince, TFV8 X-Baby or TFV Mini V2.
How to Fit and Prime the Q2 EU Core
- Drain the tank and unscrew it; separate the base.
- Unscrew the old core. If it looks slimmer than the new one, you have a standard tank – stop here.
- Soak both coils’ cotton through the side ports.
- Screw the Q2 EU core in until snug, rebuild and fill.
- Stand it for five minutes, then fire at 45W and settle around 55W.
How Long Does a Q2 EU Core Last?
A 0.4Ω dual coil at 55W is lightly loaded compared with the 0.15Ω cores, and for most of our customers it lasts one to two weeks. It’ll go faster on dark, sweet flavours.
Q2 EU Core Troubleshooting

Best E-Liquids for the Q2 EU Core
