OXVA VPRIME Cartridge: Four Resistances from DTL to MTL
The OXVA VPRIME cartridge is the top-fill, single-coil pod OXVA designed for the original VPRIME. It comes two to a pack with a Unitech 2.0 coil built in, in 0.2Ω, 0.4Ω, 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω. We list it as the VPRIME XL; OXVA simply calls it the VPRIME Cartridge.
Four resistances make it one of OXVA’s widest-ranging pods: the 0.2Ω is a full direct-lung pod at 45–60W, the 0.8Ω a mouth-to-lung pod for nic salts. It has a five-layer leak-proof structure, and OXVA quotes 50% more flavour, 45% more vapour, 30% longer coil life and 60% less spitback, without saying what those figures are measured against. It fits the VPRIME 2 too, with one catch we explain below.

VPRIME Cartridge 0.2 vs 0.4 vs 0.6 vs 0.8 Ohm
These are the figures from OXVA’s ‘Tips to use’ chart, which pairs every resistance with a draw, an e-liquid and an airflow setting. Some of OXVA’s other graphics show slightly wider bands for the 0.4Ω (28–35W) and 0.8Ω (12–18W), so treat them as a starting point.

Which Devices Does the VPRIME Cartridge Fit?
OXVA says the cartridge is designed exclusively for the VPRIME kit, and its later cross-compatibility guide adds the VPRIME 2, in Eco (single mesh) mode only.
This is the pod the VPRIME by OXVA Pod Vape Kit was designed around, and all four resistances are meant for it. In the OXVA VPRIME 2 Pod Vape Kit, the cartridge fits and fires in Eco; OXVA says mode switching is unavailable, but you can still adjust the wattage.
To use the VPRIME 2’s Boost mode, you need the VPRIME Dual Mesh pods instead. Our VPRIME 2 review explains how Boost and Eco work.
Will not fit: the XLIM, NeXlim or ONEO ranges. In a VPRIME 2 it won’t give you Boost mode.
How to Top Fill a VPRIME Cartridge
- Lift the cartridge out of the VPRIME.
- Open the fill port on top of the cartridge.
- Fill slowly down the inside wall and stop before the liquid reaches the top.
- Close the port firmly, then dry the outside of the cartridge and the contacts underneath.
- OXVA doesn’t specify a soak time. On a new cartridge we’d wait a few minutes and start at the bottom of its wattage band.
How Long Does a Pod Last?
OXVA quotes a 30% longer coil life and markets 30 days of flavour consistency, but gives no baseline for either. What we see in the shop is that resistance matters most: a 0.2Ω run at 60W needs replacing well before an 0.8Ω on nic salts, and heavily sweetened liquids shorten any of them. Swap the cartridge when the flavour flattens, the vapour drops at the same setting, or you catch a burnt edge.
VPRIME Cartridge Troubleshooting

| Harsh or too strong | The nicotine is too high for the resistance. On the 0.2Ω, OXVA suggests no more than 3mg freebase or 6mg salts. |
| No Boost mode in the VPRIME 2 | Expected. OXVA says this cartridge runs in Eco only in the VPRIME 2. For Boost, use the dual mesh pods. |
| Burnt taste on a new cartridge | The wattage is above the band for that resistance, or it wasn’t left to soak. Check the base marking. |
| Leaking from the top | The fill port isn’t closed fully, or the cartridge was overfilled. Leave an air gap. |
| Spitting | A hard draw on a fresh cartridge. Remove it, flick it into a tissue and take gentler draws. |
Reading the Base of the Cartridge
Every VPRIME cartridge carries its rating underneath – the 0.6Ω, for example, reads RDL 0.6Ω 20–25W – and the base colour changes with the resistance: red for the 0.2Ω, orange for the 0.4Ω, black for the 0.6Ω and green for the 0.8Ω. If you keep a mix in the drawer, turn it over before you fit it.
Best E-Liquids for These Pods
Match the liquid to the resistance. On the 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω, use nic salts or 50/50 freebase from our 10ml e-liquids; OXVA’s Ox Passion nic salts are a natural partner. On the 0.2Ω and 0.4Ω, use high-VG freebase at low strength – our shortfill e-liquids fit the bill.
