The XL is the reason people pick the VPrime over a smaller pod kit: 5ml is more than double a typical refillable pod, so it is a device you fill in the morning and forget about. The trade is that when the coil tires you replace a larger, slightly more expensive part — which is why they come in twos.

When To Change It
Lower resistances run hotter and wear faster: a 0.2ohm will typically need replacing well before a 0.8ohm on the same liquid. Change it when the flavour flattens, the vapour drops off at the same setting, or you get any burnt note on the inhale.
Getting the Most From a Pod
Match the resistance to the liquid rather than the other way round — 0.6ohm and 0.8ohm suit nic salts and tighter MTL draws, while 0.2ohm and 0.4ohm are for lower-strength freebase and a looser draw. Running a 20mg salt through a 0.2ohm pod is the most common mistake and it is unpleasant rather than dangerous.
