Vegetable Glycerin is the thicker of the two e-liquid bases and the one that produces vapour. It is a clear, almost odourless liquid with a faint natural sweetness, and it is what gives a high-VG mix its density and its smooth, soft throat hit.

What VG Does in a Mix

VG carries vapour rather than flavour. The higher the VG, the thicker the cloud and the softer the draw — but also the slower it wicks, which is why high-VG liquids need a wider-bore coil. A 70/30 VG/PG blend is the usual choice for DTL vape kits, while 50/50 suits MTL vape kits and pods.

Handling and Storage

Keep it sealed, out of direct sunlight and away from heat. VG is hygroscopic — it draws moisture from the air — so an open bottle left standing will thin over time. It is food and pharmaceutical grade, but it is not a consumable on its own.

What is the difference between VG and PG?

VG is thick and produces vapour with a soft throat hit; PG is thin, carries flavour better and gives a sharper throat hit. Almost every e-liquid is a blend of the two.

Can I vape 100% VG?

You can, but flavour is muted and it wicks poorly in most coils. Nearly everyone blends it with PG.

Is it suitable for someone with a PG sensitivity?

A high-VG mix is the usual route for anyone who reacts to PG. Some people go as far as max-VG for that reason.

Does it contain nicotine?

No. It is a base liquid only.

How much does 1 litre make?

At 70/30 it will make roughly 1.4 litres of finished liquid once PG, flavour and nicotine are added.
