Description
Vaporesso ARMOUR GS: 80W Pod Mod Powered by a Single 18650
The Vaporesso ARMOUR GS is the swappable-battery twin of the ARMOUR G. It shares the same 5–80W AXON chip with Neo Pulse, the same 0.96-inch TFT screen and the same top-fill, top-airflow ARMOUR G Series pod, but instead of a built-in battery it takes a single 18650 cell. Carry a charged spare and you’re back to full power in seconds, rather than waiting on a cable.
It arrives set up for direct-to-lung, with the DTL pod, a GTX 0.15Ω mesh coil fitted and a GTX 0.3Ω spare. The battery isn’t included – you’ll need one high-drain 18650 from our vape batteries range. Below: specs, coil choice, pods and coils that fit, battery advice, setup, troubleshooting, GS vs G, colours and box contents.

Which Pods and Coils Fit the ARMOUR GS?
Two parts wear out on the ARMOUR GS: the GTX coil, which you’ll change regularly, and occasionally the pod itself.
The GS uses the same pod as the ARMOUR G, so our Vaporesso ARMOUR G Series pods are the spares to buy. Keep the DTL pod for coils from 0.15Ω to 0.4Ω, or change to the MTL pod for 0.6Ω to 1.2Ω and a tighter, nic-salt-friendly draw.
Our Vaporesso GTX mesh coils cover both coils the kit comes with, the 0.15Ω and 0.3Ω, plus the 0.2Ω for the DTL pod and the 0.6Ω, 0.8Ω and 1.2Ω for the MTL pod.
Will not fit: GTi coils, which belong to a separate Vaporesso platform.
Getting Started with the ARMOUR GS
- Fit a charged 18650, following the polarity marking, and close the device up.
- Check the GTX 0.15Ω coil is seated in the DTL pod.
- Fill the pod from the top and let the coil soak for five minutes.
- Start at 60W for the 0.15Ω (or 32W for the 0.3Ω) and raise it to taste.
- Pick a top-airflow level, and lock the fire button before pocketing it.
ARMOUR GS Battery Life
Battery life on the GS comes down to the cell you fit and the coil you run. A good 18650 gives roughly the energy of the ARMOUR G’s built-in battery, but at 70W on the 0.15Ω no single cell lasts a full day of heavy vaping – which is exactly why the GS exists. Keep a second charged cell with you and swap when the screen shows low. Vaporesso says Neo Pulse keeps the flavour consistent even as the battery runs down, so you won’t notice the vape weakening before it’s time to change.
ARMOUR GS Troubleshooting
| Problem | Likely cause and fix |
|---|---|
| Won’t power on | Check the 18650 is charged and inserted the right way round. |
| Battery drains fast | Expected at 60–75W on the 0.15Ω. Move to the 0.3Ω at 32–45W, or carry a spare cell. |
| Burnt hits | Soak new coils for five minutes and start at the bottom of their wattage range. |
| Button does nothing | Unlock it: one button locks and unlocks the fire button. |
| Coil won’t fit | GTi coils won’t go in; the pod takes GTX coils only. |
ARMOUR GS vs ARMOUR G
| ARMOUR GS | ARMOUR G | |
|---|---|---|
| Power source | Removable 18650 | Built-in 3000mAh |
| Swap batteries on the go | Yes | No |
| Output | 5–80W | 5–80W |
| Height | 126mm | 113mm |
| Width x depth | 39 x 28mm | 38 x 28mm |
| Stock coils | GTX 0.15Ω and 0.3Ω | GTX 0.2Ω and 0.4Ω |
If you’d rather never think about cells, the Vaporesso ARMOUR G has a 3000mAh battery built in and a shorter body.

Choosing a Coil for the ARMOUR GS
The GS ships as a cloud machine, but it’s more flexible than that. Here’s how the GTX coils we stock behave in it:
| Coil | Fits | Wattage (Vaporesso) | Our take |
|---|---|---|---|
| GTX 0.15Ω | DTL pod | 60–75W | Biggest clouds; heaviest on battery and liquid |
| GTX 0.2Ω | DTL pod | 45–60W | Dense, warm and still punchy |
| GTX 0.3Ω | DTL pod | 32–45W | Our everyday pick for flavour and battery |
| GTX 0.8Ω | MTL pod | 12–16W | Mouth-to-lung on nic salts |
Choosing an 18650 for the ARMOUR GS
Use a single flat-top 18650 from a reputable brand, rated for high drain – at up to 80W the GS asks a lot of one cell. Never use a cell with a torn or split wrap. The GS will charge the battery through its Type-C port at 5V/2A, but an external charger from our battery chargers range lets you charge a spare while you vape. Not sure which cell to buy? Ask in any of our shops.
ARMOUR GS Colours
Vaporesso makes the GS in Black, Brown, Silver, Blue, Green and Pink, plus three patterned finishes: Pink Leopard, Racing Blackfire and Puzzle Aqua. Silver and Pink are in stock at the moment; the options above are live.

What’s in the Box
One ARMOUR GS mod, an ARMOUR G Series DTL pod, a GTX 0.15Ω mesh coil (fitted), a GTX 0.3Ω mesh coil, a Type-C cable and a user manual with warranty card. No battery – the box carries an ‘18650 not included’ badge.

Best E-Liquids for the ARMOUR GS
The GS is set up for lung hits, so a high-VG shortfill e-liquid at 3mg or 6mg is the right fill for the 0.15Ω and 0.3Ω. If you switch to the MTL pod with a 0.8Ω or 1.2Ω coil, move to nic salts or our 10ml e-liquids, up to 20mg.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the ARMOUR GS come with a battery?
No. It takes one 18650, sold separately.
Can you charge the ARMOUR GS with USB-C?
Yes, at 5V/2A through its Type-C port, though an external charger is kinder to cells and lets you charge a spare.
What coils come with the ARMOUR GS?
A GTX 0.15Ω (fitted) and a GTX 0.3Ω.
What wattage for the GTX 0.15 ohm coil?
Vaporesso suggests 60–75W.
Is the ARMOUR GS good for beginners?
It suits someone who already vapes and wants a lung hit. The external battery needs a little care, so a first-timer is usually better with the ARMOUR G or a pod kit.
ARMOUR GS or ARMOUR G?
Choose the GS to swap batteries, or the G for a built-in battery and a smaller body.
Will a 21700 battery fit the ARMOUR GS?
Vaporesso specifies a single 18650 for the GS and doesn’t list 21700 cells. If you want a 21700 device, look at the ARMOUR S.
