Description
HorizonTech Aquila Coils: E2 0.16 and P4 0.14 Ohm Mesh
HorizonTech Aquila coils are the two mesh heads made for the Aquila sub-ohm tank: the E2 encircle dual mesh at 0.16Ω and the P4 parallel quadruple mesh at 0.14Ω. Both are rated 60–70W and use HorizonTech’s bamboo pulp cotton, and we sell each in packs of three.
Only the E2 is a dual mesh coil. The P4 has four individual mesh slices set in parallel inside a closed tube, which HorizonTech says increases the contact area between coil and e-liquid.

| P4 | 0.14Ω | 60–70W | Parallel quadruple mesh | A larger wick; HorizonTech lists denser cloud and long service life |

Which Tank Do Aquila Coils Fit?
HorizonTech makes the E2 and P4 for one tank: the Aquila.
We stock the HorizonTech Aquila Tank, so the coils and the tank come from the same shelf. The tank has a one-click, spring-loaded top fill: press the button and the cap pops up. Its updraft airflow was designed around the E2 and P4, and the base twists off so the coil pushes in and pulls straight out, with no threads to cross. Keep a spare Aquila bubble glass with your coils in case of a knock.
Will not fit: Falcon or Sakerz tanks. HorizonTech’s other tank families use their own heads, such as our Falcon F1 coils and Sakerz coils.

How to Fit and Prime Aquila Coils
- Empty the Aquila and twist the bottom base open.
- Pull the old coil straight out of the base; there is no thread.
- Drop some e-liquid onto the bamboo cotton through the side openings of the new E2 or P4.
- Push it into the base, close the base, then press the spring-loaded button and fill from the top.
- Wait five to ten minutes before your first puff, starting at 60W.
How Long Does an Aquila Coil Last?
HorizonTech lists long service life for both coils and credits the bamboo pulp cotton, which it says is more absorbent than standard cotton and has antimicrobial properties. It gives no figure. Vaped daily at 60–70W, most people get one to two weeks from a head.
Aquila Coil Troubleshooting
| Problem | Likely cause and fix |
|---|---|
| Crackle and spit after filling | Too much liquid has reached the chamber. Take a few unpowered pulls and fire in short bursts. |
| Burnt hit above 70W | Both coils top out at 70W. Drop back into the 60–70W band. |
| Coil loose in the base | Push it fully home before closing the base; a half-seated coil can leak. |
Best E-Liquids for Aquila Coils
HorizonTech says the P4 works with all your favourite e-liquids, but at 60–70W the best results come from high-VG shortfill e-liquids with a nic shot for around 3mg. Thin 50/50 10ml e-liquids can flood a sub-ohm mesh coil, and nic salts are too strong at this power.
