Description
iJoy X3 Coils: X3-Mesh 0.15 Ohm and X3-C1S 0.35 Ohm
iJoy X3 coils are the heads for the Captain X3 sub-ohm tank, and we stock two of them: the X3-Mesh at 0.15Ω and the X3-C1S at 0.35Ω. Choose the resistance when you add it to your basket; each pack holds three.
Both use a wood pulp and cotton wick. You may see the X3-C1S written as ‘X3-C15’ elsewhere, but the last character is the letter S, and iJoy rates it 40–80W.

X3-Mesh vs X3-C1S: Which iJoy X3 Coil?
iJoy made six X3 heads. These are the two we stock, with iJoy’s ratings:
| Coil | Resistance | Wattage | Best with |
|---|---|---|---|
| X3-Mesh | 0.15Ω | 40–90W | Maximum flavour and cloud from high-VG shortfills |
| X3-C1S | 0.35Ω | 40–80W | Our pick for everyday use: lower power, easier on liquid |

Which Tanks Do iJoy X3 Coils Fit?
iJoy lists the X3 coils for the Captain X3 and Captain X3S tanks.
The Captain X3 is the cloud tank of iJoy’s Captain series, with a sliding top-fill cap, an interchangeable filling gasket and a cobra-pattern resin drip tip. It shipped with the dual X3-C1 fitted and the sextuple X3-C3 in the box, and the X3S takes the same heads, so both of the X3 coils we sell fit either tank.
iJoy’s coil chart for its Diamond Subohm Tank lists the X3 range too, which makes these heads an alternative there to that tank’s own iJoy DM-DM coils.
Will not fit: the original Captain or the Captain S, which take CA-series heads such as iJoy CA3 coils, or the Captain Mini.

How to Fit and Prime iJoy X3 Coils
- Drain the Captain X3 and unscrew the base.
- Take out the used coil and fit the new X3 firmly in its place.
- Prime it: wet the cotton through the wicking holes and drip a little liquid down the centre.
- Rebuild the tank, slide the top cap back and fill.
- Give it ten minutes, then start at 40W and rise to your usual setting.
How Long Does an iJoy X3 Coil Last?
iJoy doesn’t publish a figure. Wood pulp wicks well and resists scorching, so both heads tend to last a week or two of daily use. The X3-C1S usually outlasts the X3-Mesh because it runs at lower power, and heavily sweetened liquids shorten both.
X3 Coil Troubleshooting
| Problem | Likely cause and fix |
|---|---|
| Burnt taste straight away | The coil was fired dry. Always soak a new X3 for ten minutes. |
| Mesh coil tastes weak | The X3-Mesh needs power. Try 60W or more. |
| Leaking through the airflow | Check the head is fully seated and the base O-ring is intact. |
Best E-Liquids for iJoy X3 Coils
Both are sub-ohm coils, so use high-VG shortfill e-liquids with a nic shot added, for a strength of around 3mg. For more throat hit on the X3-C1S, a 50/50 from our 10ml e-liquids at 3mg or 6mg works at the lower end of its range. Save nic salts for pod kits.
