Description
SMOK Nord 0.6 Ohm Mesh Coils: The Sub-Ohm Nord Coil
SMOK Nord 0.6 ohm mesh coils are the mesh coil SMOK included with the original Nord kit, sold here in fives. SMOK designed the Nord Mesh 0.6Ω specifically for sub-ohm vaping and caps it at 25W – more than double the 12W of the Regular 1.4Ω.
Our old listing described this as a mouth-to-lung coil. That’s not how SMOK describes it: it is the looser, cloudier Nord coil, and it works best on a device that can deliver 20W or so. If you want MTL on a Nord, choose the Regular 1.4Ω or the Mesh-MTL 0.8Ω.

Nord Mesh 0.6 vs Regular DC 0.6
SMOK makes two Nord coils at 0.6Ω. They are not the same coil.
| Coil | SMOK figure | Build | SMOK description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nord Mesh 0.6Ω (this page) | Max 25W | Mesh strip | Designed for sub-ohm vaping |
| Nord Regular DC 0.6Ω | 20W recommended | Dual round-wire coils | Faster heating, higher flavour intensity |
What Does the Nord 0.6 Mesh Coil Fit?
As a Nord-series coil it fits the same pods SMOK lists for the series: the original Nord, RPM40 (RPM Nord pod), Nord 2 (Nord pod), Fetch Mini, Alike, Nord 50W, Stick N18, the Nord AIO and Vape Pen Nord models, and the Priv N19.
From our range, the SMOK Nord replacement pods are for the original Nord kit and the SMOK RPM Nord pod is the RPM40’s Nord-coil pod; both take this coil. We don’t sell a Nord-series device, so these pages are for owners.
On the RPM40, which reaches 40W, the mesh has all the power it needs; on the original Nord, the SMOK Nord 1.4 regular coil is often the better match.
Will not fit: the Nord 4, Nord X, Nord 5, RPM 2 or any Novo. Those use RPM, RPM 2 or their own pods, and SMOK doesn’t list Nord coils for them.
How to Fit and Prime a Nord Mesh Coil
- Remove the pod and take out the spent coil.
- Mesh burns quickly when dry, so soak the cotton you can see through the coil’s holes.
- Push the new coil into the pod until it seats.
- Pull the rubber plug, fill, and push the plug back fully.
- Wait at least two to three minutes, as SMOK advises, then start around 15W and build up.
How Long Does a Nord Mesh Coil Last?
Working at 20W or more, a mesh Nord coil gets through cotton faster than the regular one: expect around a week with a clear e-liquid, less with sweet ones. Running it near 25W on a pod that’s nearly empty is the fastest way to finish one.
Nord Mesh Coil Troubleshooting
| Problem | Likely cause and fix |
|---|---|
| Harsh, peppery hit | Too much nicotine for a sub-ohm coil. Drop the strength or switch to freebase. |
| Thin vapour | Device below about 15W. Mesh needs power; the 1.4Ω may suit your device better. |
| Burnt after a few days | Running near 25W or on sweet e-liquid. Back off to 18–20W. |
| Spitting | Flooded after priming. Give a few short dry pulls with the fire button released. |
Nord Coil Guide
| Coil | Resistance | Pick it for |
|---|---|---|
| Regular | 1.4Ω | Tight MTL, nic salts, fixed-output devices |
| Mesh-MTL | 0.8Ω | MTL with a little more vapour |
| Mesh (this page) | 0.6Ω | Looser sub-ohm draw at 18–25W |
Best E-Liquids for the Nord 0.6 Mesh
Because it’s a sub-ohm coil, the Nord Mesh suits a 50/50 or 60/40 freebase at 3mg to 6mg from our 10ml e-liquids. If you prefer nic salts, keep to 10mg; 20mg salts through a 0.6Ω mesh at 20W are harsh for most people. Nic salts vs freebase explains why.
