Geekvape KA1 1.2 Ohm Coil: the G Series Coil for the Aegis Pod

This Geekvape KA1 1.2 ohm coil is GeekVape’s G Series G1.2 – the box calls it the G Coil Pod-Formula, KA1 1.2Ω, five coils per pack. KA1 is the kanthal wire it’s wound from; the coil family is the G Series, and that’s the name to look for when you check what your device takes.

The G coil is made for the Aegis Pod, GeekVape’s original MTL pod system, and it’s a different coil from the B Series used in the Aegis Boost and Hero ranges. If you came here from one of those, jump to the fitment section before you order.

G1.2 Coil Rating

GeekVape publishes one rating for this coil. It makes several G coils at other resistances, and two more 1.2Ω versions with different ratings, so check the box matches before you swap.

What Does the Geekvape G1.2 Coil Fit?

GeekVape lists G coils for the Aegis Pod and its replacement pods, and names the Wenax Stylus as the best applicable model for the G1.2. The wider G range also covers the AP2, Wenax SC, Wenax C1 and G18 Starter Pen.

Our Geekvape Aegis replacement pod cartridges are the Aegis Pod cartridge that GeekVape’s G coils fit. Keep a pack of coils with them and you can refresh a cartridge by swapping just the coil. GeekVape also names the Wenax Stylus as the best match for the G1.2, though we don’t stock that device.

Will not fit: the Aegis Boost, Aegis Boost Plus or Aegis Hero – those take Geekvape B Series coils, including the Aegis Boost Plus pod. The Wenax K1, M1 and H1 use their own cartridges, not G coils.

How to Fit and Prime the G1.2 Coil

1. Open the Aegis Pod cartridge and pull the old coil out.
2. Put two or three drops of e-liquid on the exposed cotton at the top of the new coil and one through the side hole.
3. Press the coil into the cartridge until it clicks home.
4. Fill, close the cartridge and leave it five minutes before the first puff.
5. Keep the power near 10W for the first few puffs.

How Long Does a G1.2 Coil Last?

GeekVape doesn’t give a figure for the G coil. Low-wattage MTL coils like this usually outlast sub-ohm heads, and clear, less sweet nic salts stretch them further. Swap when the taste turns flat or harsh.

G1.2 Coil Troubleshooting

Best E-Liquids for the G1.2 Coil

At around 10W this is a classic nic salt coil: 10mg or 20mg nic salts, or a 50/50 freebase e-liquid. GeekVape doesn’t publish e-liquid guidance for the G1.2, so that’s our recommendation, based on how MTL coils at this power behave. Thick high-VG liquids wick too slowly for it.
