Description
Aspire Minican Plus Pod Kit: Simple, Inhale-Activated MTL
The Aspire Minican Plus (Minican+) is about as simple as a refillable pod kit gets: an 850mAh battery, a constant 3.7V output and a 0.8Ω mesh pod rated at 10–13W, fired by inhaling on the mouthpiece. There’s no button to press and nothing to set, which is why we so often suggest it to smokers making their first switch.
It takes the Aspire Minican replacement pods that fit the whole Minican family, held in place by a magnet and filled from underneath. Below: Aspire’s spec, what’s in the box, how to fill and set it up, and quick fixes for common problems.

Which Pods Fit the Aspire Minican Plus?
The Minican Plus takes the Minican pod, which Aspire lists for eight Minican devices.
Refill with Aspire Minican replacement pods (2 pack), the 0.8Ω mesh pod the Minican Plus ships with. The coil is built in, so there’s nothing to change – when a pod tastes tired, fit the next one.
Aspire lists the same pod for the original Minican, Minican 2, Minican 3, the Aspire Minican 3 Pro, Minican 4, Minican 4+ and Minican Lite, so spares are easy to share or carry over to a newer kit.
Will not fit: Gotek, PIXO, Loomix or Flexus pods. Aspire also makes other Minican pods for newer models, such as a top-fill version; we only recommend the bottom-fill 0.8Ω pod here.
How to Fill the Minican Plus
- Charge the Minican Plus with the Type-C cable.
- Pull the pod out – it’s held by a magnet – and turn it upside down.
- Lift the silicone seal and fill through the hole underneath, leaving a little space.
- Press the seal back in firmly and wipe the pod.
- Refit the pod, leave a new one about five minutes to soak, then inhale gently to vape.
Minican Plus Battery Life
850mAh is a lot for a device this small, and with a fixed 3.7V output there’s nothing to turn up and drain it. Most light-to-moderate vapers get through a day on a charge; heavier vapers may want to top up in the evening. Charging is over Type-C.
Minican Plus Troubleshooting
| Problem | Likely cause and fix |
|---|---|
| No vapour when you inhale | Charge it, and check the pod is seated – the magnet should pull it into place. |
| Liquid in your mouth | Take gentler draws, and blow through the mouthpiece into a tissue to clear condensation. |
| Leaking from the base | The silicone seal isn’t pushed fully home, or the pod was overfilled. |
| Burnt taste | Refill before the pod runs dry, and replace it once the flavour fades. |
Minican Plus vs Gotek X
| Minican Plus | Gotek X | |
|---|---|---|
| Battery | 850mAh | 650mAh |
| Output | Constant 3.7V | Constant 3.6V |
| Firing | Inhale | Inhale |
| Fill | Bottom fill | Side fill |
| Pod family | Minican | Gotek |
Both are simple draw-activated MTL kits; the Aspire Gotek X adds adjustable airflow. For a newer Minican, see the Aspire Minican 3 Pro.
Minican Plus Colours
Aspire makes it in Semitransparent Black, Blue, Green, Orange and Red, plus Transparent. Check the colour options above for stock – this is an older model, so colours sell through.

Who is the Minican Plus For?
New vapers, smokers switching over, and anyone who wants a back-up kit that just works. It’s small enough to wear on the included lanyard, and there are no settings to get wrong. If you later want more features, the same Minican pods carry over to newer Minican models.
Best E-Liquids for the Minican Plus
Use nic salts or 50/50 freebase – thick high-VG liquids won’t wick fast enough through a small MTL coil. 20mg salts suit most new switchers; our nic salts vs freebase guide explains the difference, and there’s plenty of choice in our 10ml e-liquids too.
