Description
Geekvape Fused Clapton Coils: Prebuilt Coils for Rebuildable Decks
Geekvape fused Clapton coils are ready-made coils for rebuildable atomisers – RDAs, RTAs and RDTAs – so you get the flavour of a Clapton build without wrapping the wire yourself. GeekVape sells its fused Claptons in 2-in-1 tins: two resistances, four of each, plus a coil tool.
GeekVape has made several of these tins over the years, and our listing doesn’t record which one this is. Rather than print a resistance we can’t stand behind, the table below gives GeekVape’s published spec for each fused Clapton tin; the name is on the lid, and we’re happy to check a tin for you in store.

GeekVape’s Fused Clapton Tins
Every tin GeekVape lists uses a 3.0mm inner diameter and six wraps. GeekVape doesn’t give wattages for any of them – the right power depends on your build and deck.

What Can You Use Fused Clapton Coils In?
Any rebuildable deck with room for a 3.0mm inner-diameter coil. GeekVape doesn’t name specific atomisers for these coils, so check your deck’s post holes and spacing first.
We stock rebuildable drippers in our RDA range and tanks in our RTA range. GeekVape doesn’t name atomisers for these coils, so compare the tin’s 3.0mm inner diameter with your deck. The Geekvape Aegis Boost RBA ships with 0.6Ω N80 fused Claptons; of GeekVape’s tins, the MTL F208 is the only one with a 0.6Ω.
Will not fit: pod kits or sub-ohm tanks that use prebuilt coil heads, such as B Series or Z Series coils. They are loose coils, not heads.
How to Fit a Fused Clapton Coil
- Seat the coil between the posts, centred over the airflow, and tighten the screws.
- Trim the legs flush and check the resistance on your mod.
- Fire at low power: the coil should glow from the centre outwards. Claptons take a moment longer to heat, so go gently rather than strumming them hard.
- Wick with cotton, trim the tails and saturate the wick before your first puff.
How Long Do Fused Clapton Coils Last?
Longer than a coil head, because you can re-wick them. When the flavour dulls, pull the cotton, dry-burn the coil gently and fit fresh wicking cotton. Fused Claptons trap more residue between the wraps than plain wire, so replace the coil once it stays dark after cleaning.
Fused Clapton Troubleshooting
| Problem | Likely cause and fix |
|---|---|
| Resistance reads far too low | A leg is touching the deck or the other post. Reseat and re-trim. |
| Hot spots | Pulse at low power and gently adjust the coil with the tool until it glows evenly. |
| Slow ramp-up | Normal for Claptons. Add a few watts, staying within your mod and battery limits. |
E-Liquid for Fused Claptons
Sub-ohm Clapton builds suit high-VG shortfill e-liquids at 3mg or less. The 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω MTL tin will take 50/50 at higher strengths, up to 20mg.
