Dark Cherry Under a Menthol Chill

Ripe dark cherry with menthol laid over it. The cherry is deep and slightly bitter at the edges rather than sugary, and the menthol arrives late enough that the fruit registers first.

Cherry is a difficult flavour to cool. Done badly it turns medicinal, because cherry and menthol both push in the same direction. Keeping the cherry dark and the cooling restrained is what avoids that, and at 50/50 the fruit stays sharper than a high-VG version would allow.
