Description

Eleaf EC-M Coil 0.15 Ohm: Kanthal Mesh for Melo and iJust Tanks

The Eleaf EC-M coil is a 0.15Ω Kanthal mesh head rated at 30–75W, sold in packs of five. Eleaf made it for its Melo and iJust tank series, as a mesh alternative to the standard EC head.

Eleaf says the mesh gives a much larger heating surface than a wire coil, heating more quickly and evenly for better flavour and bigger clouds. Eleaf names the tank series rather than individual models, so we do the same.

EC-M Specification

Eleaf’s figures, from its EC-M page and store:

Detail EC-M
Resistance 0.15Ω
Wattage 30–75W
Element Kanthal mesh
Size 11mm across, 27mm high, 5.6g
White Vape Co recommends: start around 45W and settle at 50–60W with the airflow open. It’s a cloud coil; below 40W it feels lukewarm.

Which Tanks Take the EC-M?

Eleaf lists the EC-M for its Melo and iJust series atomisers.

In practice that means the EC-family tanks: the Eleaf FAQ lists the iJust 2, iJust 2 Mini, Melo, Melo 2, Melo III and Melo III Mini for EC heads, though that list predates the EC-M. If your tank takes the standard Eleaf EC coils, check with us that it has the power headroom for a 0.15Ω mesh head.

Will not fit: a 20W device such as our Eleaf Mini iStick 20W – well short of the EC-M’s 30W minimum.

How to Fit and Prime an EC-M Coil

  1. Empty the tank and unscrew the old head.
  2. Wet the mesh head with a few drops, as Eleaf advises for all its heads.
  3. Screw it in, fill and wait five minutes.
  4. Start at 35–40W and increase.

How Long Does an EC-M Coil Last?

Eleaf gives no figure. Low-resistance mesh at 50W+ wears faster than a wire head; change it when the flavour fades.

EC-M Troubleshooting

Problem Likely cause and fix
Spitting Open the airflow and use a higher-VG liquid.
Dry hits Drop the wattage and avoid max-VG liquid, which Eleaf says can cause burning.

Best E-Liquids for the EC-M

Use a 3mg shortfill at around 70/30. Nic salts are too strong at this power.
