oxva xlim go 2 product review

OXVA Xlim Go 2 Review: The Best Beginner Pod Kit in 2026?

The original OXVA Xlim Go was already one of the best-selling pod kits in the UK — a tiny, affordable device that punched well above its weight on flavour and reliability. The OXVA Xlim Go 2 takes everything that worked and improves every spec that mattered.

We’ve been selling and recommending this device across our three Southampton-area vape shops since it launched, and we’ve had consistently positive feedback from customers — whether they’re ex-smokers making the switch, disposable users transitioning to refillable, or experienced vapers who want a reliable pocket device. Here’s our full review.

First Impressions & Build Quality

Oxva XLIM GO 2 Pod Vape Kit Metal BlueThe Xlim Go 2 looks and feels like a premium device that costs far more than its £15.99 price tag. It’s compact at 117.4mm × 26.4mm × 15mm — slim enough to slip into a shirt pocket or the small compartment of a bag without adding bulk. The build is lightweight but sturdy, with a textured finish that prevents it sliding around on surfaces.

OXVA offers eight colourways: Black Carbon, Black Shadow, Metal Silver, Metal Blue, Blue Ripple, Pink Ripple, Green Ripple and Light Brown Shadow. The ripple finishes in particular have a distinctive look that sets them apart from the generic black rectangles that dominate this price point.

One subtle but welcome detail is the breathing starlight LED indicator hidden beneath the body. It glows when you vape or charge — green above 70%, blue above 30%, red when it’s time to plug in. It’s a small touch, but it means you always know your battery status at a glance without guessing.

Battery Life & Charging

This is where the Go 2 makes its biggest leap. The 1500mAh battery is a 50% increase over the original Xlim Go’s 1000mAh cell, and the real-world difference is significant. With the pre-installed 0.8ohm pod and moderate use (roughly a pod’s worth of e-liquid per day), we consistently got two full days from a single charge. Heavier vapers using the 0.6ohm pods will still comfortably get a day and a half.

Charging is via USB-C at 2A — a genuine fast charge, not the trickle speeds that plague cheaper devices. We measured 0% to 80% in around 25–30 minutes, and a full charge in just over 40 minutes. For context, the original Go took nearly twice as long. If you’re the type who forgets to charge overnight, a quick plug-in while you shower or make breakfast gets you through the day.

Coil Technology & Flavour

OXVA’s UniTech 2.0 dual-mesh coil system is the Go 2’s secret weapon. The five-layer premium cotton wicking delivers noticeably richer, more consistent flavour than the previous generation — OXVA claims 50% more flavour and 30% longer pod life, and while marketing claims should always be taken with a pinch of salt, the improvement is genuinely noticeable in practice.

We tested with Mix Labs Blueberry Sour RaspberryMix Labs Watermelon Ice and Vampire Vape Ice Menthol across the 0.6ohm and 0.8ohm pods. The 0.6ohm pod is the standout — it produces warmer, denser vapour with incredible flavour clarity. Every note in complex flavour profiles comes through cleanly, from the blueberry in BSR to the cool finish in menthol. The 0.8ohm pod is slightly cooler and smoother, making it ideal for vapers who prefer a lighter, more cigarette-like experience.

Pod life with nic salts averaged 5–7 days of regular use before flavour started to drop off. That’s excellent for a device at this price point and significantly better than most competitors.

Airflow & Draw Style

The adjustable side airflow ring gives you meaningful control over your draw. Fully closed, it delivers a very tight, cigarette-like MTL pull that’s ideal for higher-nicotine nic salts and ex-smokers who want that familiar resistance. Open it up and you get a looser restricted draw — not full DTL, but enough to produce noticeably bigger clouds and a slightly airier feel.

The inhale activation is responsive and consistent. There’s no lag between drawing and vapour production, and we didn’t experience any misfires or auto-firing during our testing period. There’s no fire button — it’s purely draw-activated — which keeps things simple for beginners.

Pod Compatibility

One of the Xlim Go 2’s biggest advantages is its compatibility with the entire OXVA Xlim pod family. You’re not locked into one coil option:

  • OXVA Xlim EZ Pods — Snap-open top fill for the easiest refilling. Available in 0.6ohm and 0.8ohm. Our recommendation for most vapers.
  • OXVA Xlim V2 Pods — Side-fill design in 0.6ohm, 0.8ohm and 1.2ohm options. The 1.2ohm is perfect for vapers who want an ultra-tight draw with minimal vapour.
  • OXVA Xlim V3 Top Fill Pods — Top-fill convenience with the same coil options.

This flexibility means you can experiment to find your ideal setup without buying a new device. Most customers at our shops settle on the 0.6ohm EZ pods with 20mg nic salts, but the range means there’s something for everyone.

Who Is It For?

The Xlim Go 2 suits three main groups particularly well:

Ex-smokers making the switch: The tight MTL draw, simple inhale activation, and compatibility with satisfying 20mg nic salts make this an ideal first device. There’s nothing to learn — fill the pod, draw on it, and you’re vaping. As an official Smoke Free Hampshire partner, this is one of the devices we most frequently recommend to customers starting their smoke-free journey.

Disposable users transitioning to refillable: Since the UK disposable vape ban came into effect, the Xlim Go 2 has been our number one recommendation for ex-disposable users. The flavour quality from the UniTech 2.0 coils matches or exceeds what disposables delivered, and you’ll save a fortune in running costs.

Experienced vapers wanting a backup: Even if you have a more advanced setup at home, the Go 2’s pocket-friendly size, impressive battery life and genuine flavour quality make it an excellent device to throw in your bag or keep in the car.

Xlim Go 2 vs Xlim Pro 3: Which Should You Choose?

OXVA’s other popular option is the Xlim Pro 3, which sits at a higher price point with additional features. Here’s how they compare:

The Go 2 actually has a bigger battery than the Pro 3, which surprises a lot of people. If you want set-and-forget simplicity with maximum battery life, the Go 2 is the better choice. If you want a colour display, manual wattage control and button activation as an option, the Pro 3 justifies the extra cost. Both share the same pod ecosystem, so you can use either with the same pods and e-liquids.

Value for Money

At £15.99 for the device alone, the Xlim Go 2 is exceptional value. Replacement EZ pods cost a few pounds for a pack, and each pod lasts 5–7 days. Running costs are a fraction of what disposables or smoking would cost.

For even better value, the Xlim Go 2 Starter Bundle at £33.00 includes the device, a pack of Xlim pods and four nic salt e-liquids — everything you need to start vaping straight away. Combined with our multi-buy nic salt deals, you can keep your running costs remarkably low.

Our Verdict

Rating: 9.5/10

The OXVA Xlim Go 2 is the best beginner pod kit we’ve tested in 2026. The massive battery upgrade, excellent flavour from UniTech 2.0 coils, fast USB-C charging and adjustable airflow would be impressive at twice the price. At £15.99, it’s remarkable.

It’s not perfect — the lack of manual wattage control means tinkerers will prefer the Xlim Pro 3, and the inhale-only activation won’t suit everyone. But for the vast majority of vapers, especially beginners and switchers, these are non-issues. The Go 2 does exactly what it needs to do, and does it better than anything else in its class.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the OXVA Xlim Go 2 battery last?

The 1500mAh battery comfortably lasts 1.5–2 days for moderate vapers using 0.8ohm pods with nic salts. Heavier vapers using 0.6ohm pods can expect a full day. USB-C 2A fast charging gets you from 0% to 80% in around 25–30 minutes.

What pods are compatible with the Xlim Go 2?

The Xlim Go 2 works with OXVA Xlim EZ pods, Xlim V2 pods and Xlim V3 pods in 0.4ohm, 0.6ohm, 0.8ohm and 1.2ohm resistances. We recommend the EZ 0.6ohm pods for the best combination of flavour and throat hit with nic salts.

What e-liquid should I use with the Xlim Go 2?

The Xlim Go 2 is designed for 50/50 VG/PG e-liquids and nicotine salts in 10mg or 20mg. Nic salts deliver the smoothest, most satisfying experience in this device. We recommend brands like Mix LabsElfliq and Imp Jar — all available on our multi-buy deals.

Is the Xlim Go 2 good for quitting smoking?

Yes — the tight MTL draw closely replicates the sensation of smoking a cigarette, and 20mg nic salts deliver nicotine satisfaction comparable to traditional cigarettes. Combined with its simplicity (no buttons, no settings), it’s one of the most accessible quit-smoking devices available. Visit any of our Southampton stores for free advice on making the switch, or learn about our Smoke Free Hampshire partnership.

What’s the difference between the Xlim Go 2 and the original Xlim Go?

The Go 2 upgrades the battery from 1000mAh to 1500mAh (50% bigger), adds 2A USB-C fast charging (roughly twice as fast), introduces UniTech 2.0 coil technology for better flavour and longer pod life, and includes the breathing starlight LED indicator. The price remains similar, making the Go 2 a straight upgrade in every way.

Can I use the Xlim Go 2 as a disposable replacement?

Absolutely — this is one of the main reasons we recommend it. The flavour quality from brands like Mix Labs and Elfliq matches or exceeds what disposables delivered, the device is just as portable, and it costs a fraction to run. Read our full guide on life after disposables for more alternatives.

Life After Disposables: The Best Refillable & Prefilled Vapes for UK Vapers in 2026

It’s been over eight months since the UK disposable vape ban took effect in June 2025, and the vaping landscape looks completely different. If you’re still figuring out what to use instead of your old Elf Bar or Lost Mary disposable — or you’ve tried a replacement device and it just wasn’t right — this guide is for you.

We’ve tested every type of alternative in our three Southampton stores and online, and we can tell you honestly: the devices available now are better than disposables ever were. Better flavour, better battery life, and dramatically cheaper to run. The trick is finding the right one for how you vape.

Here’s a straightforward breakdown of your options, what each one is actually like to use, and which type suits different kinds of vapers.

Understanding Your Two Main Options

Since disposables were banned, the vaping market has split into two clear categories for everyday vapers: prefilled pod kits and refillable pod kits. Both are rechargeable, both are legal, and both are dramatically better value than disposables were. But they work differently, and which one suits you depends on what you’re after.

Prefilled Pod Kits: The Closest Thing to a Disposable

Prefilled pod devices are designed for vapers who want zero hassle. You charge the battery, click in a pre-loaded pod, and vape. When the pod runs out, you swap it for a new one. No filling, no coil changes, no mess.

If you liked disposables because they were simple and you didn’t want to think about settings or maintenance, a prefilled system is your natural next step. The experience is almost identical — auto-draw activation, tight MTL (mouth-to-lung) inhale, and strong flavours — but you’re recharging a battery rather than throwing away an entire device.

The running costs are significantly lower too. A disposable used to cost £5–£8 and last a day or two. A prefilled pod typically costs £3–£6 and lasts just as long, while the battery unit you’ve already paid for keeps going for months.

Refillable Pod Kits: More Choice, Even Better Value

Refillable pod kits require a small bit more involvement — you fill the pod yourself with your choice of e-liquid. But that extra step opens up a massive advantage: you can choose from hundreds of flavours and nicotine strengths rather than being limited to whatever pods your device manufacturer offers.

Refillable kits are also the cheapest way to vape by a considerable margin. A 10ml bottle of nic salt e-liquid costs around £2.50–£4.00 and lasts most vapers several days. Pair that with replacement pods or coils every week or two, and you’re looking at a fraction of what disposables cost. Our 4 for £10 nic salt deals bring that cost down even further.

If you enjoy trying new flavours, want more control over nicotine strength, or you’re looking to gradually reduce your nicotine intake over time, a refillable kit is the way to go.

Best Prefilled Pod Kits for Ex-Disposable Users

We’ve tested and stocked the major prefilled systems since before the ban came into effect. Here are the ones our customers and staff consistently rate highest.

Dojo Blast 10K by Vaporesso

The Dojo Blast 10K has been our best-selling prefilled device since launch, and it’s easy to see why. It’s made by Vaporesso — one of the most respected names in vaping hardware — and it uses their COREX 4.0 mesh coil technology for genuinely excellent flavour. The 1,000mAh battery comfortably lasts a full day, and each pod-and-refill set delivers up to 10,000 puffs.

What makes it stand out is the auto-refill system. The 2ml pod sits inside an 8ml e-liquid container that continuously feeds liquid into the pod from above, so you get extended use without ever manually refilling. When the set is finished, you just swap in a new one. It’s as close to disposable simplicity as you can get, with much better flavour and value.

There are over 25 flavours available, and the replacement pods are well priced. For a full comparison of how it stacks up against every other prefilled system on the market, see our definitive guide to prefilled pod systems.

Dojo Blast 30K Pro by Vaporesso

The Dojo Blast 30K Pro takes everything good about the 10K and adds adjustable airflow, three power modes, and a larger 1,200mAh battery. It comes with two pod-and-refill sets in the box, giving you up to 30,000 puffs before you need to buy replacements.

The boost mode is a standout feature — press the button at the bottom of the device to switch from normal to a warmer, more intense vape. It’s the kind of customisation you simply couldn’t get from a disposable, and it makes a noticeable difference depending on the flavour you’re using. If you’re already using a Dojo Blast 10K and want to upgrade, the 30K Pro is fully compatible with all existing 10K pods.

OXVA SlimStick

The OXVA SlimStick is a newer entry from one of the industry’s most trusted brands. It’s ultra-compact, auto-draw activated, and uses OXVA’s proven flavour technology for smooth, consistent performance. If you want something genuinely pocket-sized that just works with no learning curve, the SlimStick is a strong choice. The flavour range is growing, with options covering fruity, menthol, and dessert profiles.

Best Refillable Pod Kits for Ex-Disposable Users

If you’re ready to make the step up to refillable — and we’d encourage most vapers to consider it for the cost savings and flavour choice alone — these are the devices we recommend most often.

OXVA Xlim 3 Ultra

The OXVA Xlim 3 Ultra is, in our opinion, the best refillable pod kit on the UK market right now. The 2.2-inch HD touchscreen is genuinely useful rather than gimmicky — you can adjust wattage, track your usage, and change display themes with a swipe. The 1,500mAh battery lasts up to four days for moderate vapers, and OXVA’s Super Pulse System means flavour stays consistent right down to the last few percent of battery.

For ex-disposable users, the key selling point is that it’s compatible with the entire OXVA Xlim pod range, including 0.8ohm and 1.2ohm options that replicate the tight, cigarette-style draw that most disposable users prefer. Fill it with a 20mg nic salt and the experience is remarkably close to a disposable — just with better flavour and a device that lasts years rather than hours.

Vaporesso XROS Range

Vaporesso makes some of the most reliable pod kits on the market, and the XROS series has been a consistent favourite. The XROS Pro offers adjustable airflow, a strong 1,200mAh battery, and excellent coil longevity. It’s a fantastic all-rounder that works equally well with nic salts and freebase e-liquids.

For vapers who want something even more compact, the Vaporesso XROS Nano is tiny, draw-activated, and perfect for throwing in a pocket or bag. We offer it as part of a device package deal bundled with pods and nic salts, so you get everything you need in one order.

Budget-Friendly Options

Not everyone wants to spend £25+ on a device, and that’s completely fine. Our starter kits category includes excellent entry-level pod kits from OXVA, Voopoo, and others, many starting under £15. These won’t have touchscreens or adjustable power modes, but they’ll give you great flavour, reliable battery life, and a much better experience than any disposable ever did.

Choosing the Right E-Liquid After Disposables

If you’ve gone refillable, picking the right e-liquid is just as important as choosing the right device. Here’s what you need to know.

Nic salts are your starting point. Nicotine salt e-liquids deliver nicotine faster and smoother than standard freebase liquids, making them the closest match to the hit you got from a disposable. Most ex-disposable users start at 20mg and many stay there happily, though some gradually step down to 10mg over time.

Flavour choice is huge. Where a prefilled system might offer 25–50 flavours, going refillable opens up thousands. Brands like Mix Labs produce nic salts that replicate popular disposable flavours, while Vampire Vape offers classics like Heisenberg and Pinkman that have been UK favourites for years. For more on those iconic flavours, read our Heisenberg and Pinkman guide.

Multi-buy deals make refillable even cheaper. Our 4 for £10 and 4 for £12 nic salt deals mean you can stock up on 40ml of e-liquid for around the price of two or three disposables. For shortfill fans, our buy 2 get a 3rd for £3 deal makes larger bottles even more affordable.

The Real Cost Comparison: Disposables vs Prefilled vs Refillable

Let’s put some honest numbers on this. These are based on a typical vaper getting through roughly one disposable per day.

Disposables (before the ban): At £5–£8 per day, that worked out to roughly £150–£240 per month. It was never good value — just convenient.

Prefilled pod kits: After the initial device cost (typically £8–£15), replacement pods work out to around £40–£70 per month depending on how much you vape and which system you use. That’s a saving of at least 50% compared to disposables.

Refillable pod kits: The device costs a bit more upfront (£15–£35 for a quality kit), but running costs drop dramatically. E-liquid, pods, and coils together typically come to £20–£40 per month. That’s a saving of 75% or more compared to disposables, and the flavour experience is generally better too.

Tips for Making the Switch Successfully

After helping hundreds of customers transition from disposables over the past year, here’s what we’ve learned works best:

Don’t drop your nicotine strength. The most common mistake people make is choosing a lower nicotine level because they think they should. If you were using a 20mg disposable, start with 20mg nic salts. You can always reduce later once you’re settled.

Try before you buy where possible. If you’re near Southampton, pop into any of our stores in Totton, Hythe, or Holbury and we’ll let you try flavours and handle devices before you commit. If you’re shopping online, our team is always available by phone or email to help you choose.

Give a new device at least a week. The draw, flavour, and feel of a refillable kit is slightly different from a disposable. It’s almost always better, but it takes a few days for your mouth and brain to adjust. Don’t give up after one pod.

Stock up on spare pods and coils. There’s nothing worse than your pod dying at 10pm with no replacement. Keep a couple of spare pods and coils in your drawer so you’re never caught out.

Consider a bundle deal. If you’re starting from scratch, a device package deal that includes a kit, pods, and e-liquids is the easiest and most cost-effective way to get everything in one go.

Getting Help With the Switch

Switching from disposables doesn’t have to be a solo effort. Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best alternative to disposable vapes in the UK?

Prefilled pod kits like the Dojo Blast 10K offer the closest experience to disposables — auto-draw activation, pre-loaded pods, and no maintenance. For better value and more flavour choice, refillable pod kits like the OXVA Xlim 3 Ultra paired with nic salt e-liquids are the best overall option. Both types are rechargeable, fully legal, and much cheaper to run than disposables were.

Are prefilled pods the same as disposable vapes?

No. Prefilled pod kits have a rechargeable battery that you keep and reuse. Only the pod is replaced when it runs out. Disposable vapes were single-use devices that you threw away entirely — battery, electronics, and all. Prefilled pod systems are legal in the UK, while single-use disposables have been banned since June 2025.

How much money will I save switching from disposables?

Most vapers save 50–75% compared to what they spent on disposables. Prefilled pod kits typically cost £40–£70 per month to run, while refillable kits with nic salt e-liquids can come in under £30 per month. Compared to the £150–£240 many people spent monthly on disposables, the savings are substantial.

What nicotine strength should I use after switching from disposables?

If you were using 20mg disposables, start with 20mg nic salt e-liquids. Nicotine salts deliver nicotine smoothly and quickly, closely matching the sensation of a disposable. Dropping to a lower strength too soon is the most common reason people struggle with the switch. You can always reduce gradually once you’re comfortable.

Is a refillable vape difficult to use?

Not at all. Modern refillable pod kits are designed to be as simple as possible. You fill the pod with e-liquid (takes about 10 seconds), click it into the device, and vape. Most are draw-activated, so there are no buttons to press. Replacing a pod or coil every 1–2 weeks is the only maintenance required.

Can I get disposable vape flavours in refillable e-liquids?

Yes. Many e-liquid brands now produce nic salts that replicate popular disposable flavours. Mix Labs, for example, offers a wide range of disposable-inspired flavours in 10ml nic salt bottles. You can also explore classic UK e-liquid flavours from brands like Vampire Vape that many vapers discover they prefer once they try them in a proper device.

Where can I get advice on switching from disposables?

Any specialist vape shop with knowledgeable staff can help. At White Vape Co, we offer free advice in our Southampton-area stores in Totton, Hythe, and Holbury, as well as over the phone and by email for online customers. As a Smoke Free Hampshire partner, we can also connect you with local stop smoking services for additional support.

uk government vaping tax 2026 explained

UK Vape Tax 2026 – What Is the UK Vaping Products Duty?

UK Vape Tax 2026 – From 1 October 2026, the UK government is introducing a brand-new excise tax on all vaping liquids sold in the country. It’s officially called Vaping Products Duty (VPD), and it will affect every vaper in the UK — whether you use nic salts, shortfill e-liquids, prefilled pods, or even nicotine-free juice.

This is the biggest financial change to hit UK vaping since TPD regulations were first introduced, and it follows hot on the heels of the disposable vape ban that came into effect in June 2025. Whether you vape casually or heavily, understanding what’s coming — and when — will help you make informed choices about your setup, your spending, and how you buy your e-liquid going forward.

In this guide, we’ll break down every confirmed detail from official UK government sources, explain how it affects different types of products, walk through the key dates, and share practical advice on what you can do to prepare.

The Key Facts: How Much, On What, and When

Here’s what the government has confirmed, as published by HMRC on GOV.UK:

The duty rate is a flat charge of £2.20 per 10ml of vaping liquid. That works out to 22p per millilitre. It applies regardless of nicotine strength — a 20mg nic salt bottle is taxed at exactly the same rate as a 3mg freebase or a 0mg nicotine-free liquid.

What’s covered: Any liquid that contains nicotine and either glycerine or glycol, or any liquid that is intended to be vapourised by a vape and is not a medical or tobacco product. In plain English, that means every type of e-liquid sold in the UK — 10ml bottles, shortfills, nic shots, prefilled pod cartridges, and even zero-nicotine juice.

What’s NOT covered: Vaping hardware is exempt. Your pod kit, coils, replacement pods (empty, refillable ones), batteries, and chargers are not subject to VPD. Only the liquid itself is taxed.

When it starts: The duty officially takes effect on 1 October 2026. Business registrations open on 1 April 2026.

The Timeline: Key Dates Every Vaper Should Know

1 April 2026 — Business registration opens. Manufacturers, importers, and warehouses must begin applying for HMRC approval. The government has warned that checks can take up to 45 working days, so businesses need to act early.

1 October 2026 — VPD goes live. From this date, all vaping liquids produced in or imported into the UK will be subject to the £2.20 per 10ml duty. At the same time, Vaping Duty Stamps must be attached to the retail packaging of individual vaping products. Any e-liquid manufactured or imported after this date cannot legally be sold without duty being paid and a stamp being applied.

1 October 2026 to 31 March 2027 — Grace period for existing stock. Retailers can continue selling unstamped stock that was already on shelves or in warehouses before 1 October. This six-month window allows the market to sell through older inventory.

1 April 2027 — Grace period ends. From this date, every vaping product on sale in the UK must carry a duty stamp. Selling unstamped products after this point could result in civil or criminal penalties.

How Much More Will E-Liquid Cost?

The duty is charged at 22p per ml, but remember that VAT (20%) is then charged on top of the duty-inclusive price. So the real cost to you is slightly higher than the raw duty figure. Here’s how it breaks down for common product sizes:

10ml bottle (nic salt or freebase): £2.20 duty + £0.44 VAT on duty = approximately £2.64 added to the price. A bottle currently selling at £3.99 could rise to around £6.50–£7.00.

2ml prefilled pod (e.g. OXVA SlimStick pods or Dojo Blast pods): £0.44 duty per pod + VAT = approximately £0.53 added per pod. Prefilled pods will see the smallest absolute price increase because they contain the least liquid.

10ml nic shot: £2.20 duty + VAT = approximately £2.64 added.

50ml shortfill: £11.00 duty + £2.20 VAT on duty = approximately £13.20 added.

100ml shortfill: £22.00 duty + £4.40 VAT on duty = approximately £26.40 added.

As you can see, larger bottles are hit hardest in absolute terms. A 100ml shortfill that currently costs £12–£15 could end up costing close to £40 once duty and VAT are factored in. Smaller formats like 10ml nic salts and prefilled pods will see more modest increases.

What About Tobacco? Will Smoking Become Cheaper Than Vaping?

No. The government has specifically addressed this concern. Alongside VPD, a one-off increase to tobacco duty will take effect on the same date — 1 October 2026. According to the GOV.UK tobacco duty changes, the increase is £2.20 per 100 cigarettes and £2.20 per 50g of all other tobacco products. This is on top of the existing annual tobacco duty escalator of RPI + 2 percentage points.

The government’s own policy paper states that this is designed to ensure that “the incentive to switch is maintained” and that vaping remains financially cheaper than smoking. In other words, they’ve deliberately increased both taxes at the same time so that switching from cigarettes to vaping still makes economic sense.

If you’re currently using vaping as a way to stay off cigarettes — and many of our customers are, through our work as an official Smoke Free Hampshire partner — vaping will continue to be the cheaper option.

What Are Vaping Duty Stamps?

Alongside the duty itself, the government is introducing a Vaping Duty Stamps (VDS) Scheme. This works in a similar way to the tax stamps you see on packets of cigarettes and bottles of spirits.

Every individual vaping product sold at retail in the UK will need a physical duty stamp attached to its packaging. The stamps will include both physical security features and digital elements for traceability and authentication. HMRC has appointed Cartor Security Printers Limited as the official stamp supplier.

For you as a consumer, duty stamps are actually good news. They make it much easier to identify legitimate, tax-paid products and avoid counterfeit or illicit vaping products. If a product doesn’t carry a stamp after April 2027, it’s either illegal or non-compliant — and you shouldn’t buy it.

Why Is the Government Doing This?

The official HMRC policy paper gives several reasons:

Reducing youth uptake. The government wants to make vaping less affordable for young people and non-smokers. The Chief Medical Officer’s position remains that those who don’t already vape or smoke should not start.

Revenue generation. Treasury analysis estimates VPD will raise more than £550 million per year by 2030–31, funding public services including the NHS.

Tackling the illicit market. The duty stamp scheme is specifically designed to make it easier for Trading Standards and Border Force to identify non-duty-paid and counterfeit products. This is part of the same push that led to the disposable vape ban in June 2025.

Part of the Smoke-Free Generation agenda. VPD sits alongside the Tobacco and Vapes Bill, higher tobacco duties, and the disposable ban as part of the government’s wider public health strategy.

It’s worth noting that the government’s own impact assessment acknowledges the duty will affect an estimated 5.1 million vapers and that heavy vapers will carry the largest burden.

How Does This Affect Different Types of Vapers?

If you use a prefilled pod device like the OXVA SlimStick or Dojo Blast 10K, you’ll see the smallest price increases. A 2ml prefilled pod will attract roughly 53p of additional cost (duty + VAT). Prefilled pods are TPD-compliant at 2ml maximum, so the per-pod impact is modest. This makes prefilled systems one of the most cost-predictable options post-tax.

Nic Salt and 10ml Bottle Users

If you buy 10ml nic salts for a refillable pod kit, expect around £2.64 added per bottle. A bottle currently priced at £3.99 will likely land somewhere between £6.50 and £7.00 depending on how brands and retailers absorb or pass on costs. Our multi-buy deals like 4 for £10 and 4 for £12 nic salt bundles will need to be repriced, but we’ll continue to offer the best value we can.

Shortfill and Sub-Ohm Vapers

This is where the biggest impact will be felt. A 50ml shortfill will see around £13 in additional costs, and a 100ml shortfill will see over £26 extra. Plus the nic shots you add will each attract their own £2.64 duty and VAT. Sub-ohm vapers who consume higher volumes of liquid daily will need to plan their budgets accordingly.

Many in the industry expect long fill e-liquids — bottles containing just flavour concentrate, to which you add your own VG, PG, and nic shots — to become more popular. Because VG and PG bought as raw ingredients (not marketed specifically as vaping liquid) may sit outside the duty’s scope, long fills could offer a more cost-effective route for experienced vapers comfortable with DIY mixing.

Zero-Nicotine Vapers

Yes, 0mg e-liquid is subject to the same duty rate. The government’s definition covers any liquid “intended to be vapourised by a vape,” regardless of nicotine content. So if you vape nicotine-free juice, you’ll pay the same £2.20 per 10ml as everyone else.

What You Can Do to Prepare

Don’t panic buy. The duty doesn’t take effect until October, and there’s a six-month grace period for existing stock after that. There’s no rush to stockpile.

Consider your setup. If you currently use a high-consumption sub-ohm device and go through large volumes of shortfill, it may be worth looking at more efficient systems. Refillable pod kits like the OXVA Xlim range or Vaporesso XROS use significantly less e-liquid per day than sub-ohm tanks, which means less duty paid overall.

Prefilled pods become even more attractive. Because prefilled pod systems use 2ml cartridges, the per-pod duty is just 44p before VAT. For vapers who value convenience and predictable costs, prefilled is a smart option post-tax.

Look at nic salt efficiency. Higher-strength nic salt e-liquids (10mg–20mg) deliver nicotine satisfaction more quickly, meaning you typically vape less liquid per day than with low-strength freebase juice. Since the duty is charged per ml, using less liquid means paying less duty.

Watch for deal changes. We’ll be updating our pricing and bundle deals as the October date approaches. Sign up to our newsletter or join the White Vape Co Vape Club to be the first to hear about how we’re keeping costs as low as possible.

Buy from trusted retailers. Once duty stamps become mandatory, buying from legitimate UK vape shops is more important than ever. Products without stamps will be illegal after April 2027, and buying from unregulated sources means risking your health with counterfeit products that have no quality control.

Will Vaping Still Be Cheaper Than Smoking?

Yes — and the government has deliberately designed it that way. Here’s a rough comparison based on post-duty pricing:

Smoking 20 cigarettes a day: Currently around £13–£14 per pack. After the October 2026 tobacco duty increase, expect this to rise further — potentially £14–£15+ per pack, which works out to over £5,000 per year.

Vaping with prefilled pods: Even after duty, a 2-pack of prefilled pods (lasting most vapers 2–4 days) will cost significantly less than a pack of cigarettes. Annual costs will vary but are likely to remain under £1,000–£1,500 depending on usage.

Vaping with refillable pod kits and nic salts: Even at post-duty prices, a 10ml bottle of nic salt could last a moderate vaper 3–5 days. Annual e-liquid costs of roughly £600–£1,000 are realistic, plus occasional coil and pod replacements.

The financial incentive to vape instead of smoke remains strong. If you’re considering making the switch, visit any of our stores in Hythe, Totton, or Holbury and our team will help you find the most cost-effective setup for your needs.

Our View at White Vape Co

We understand that any price increase is unwelcome, especially for the millions of adult vapers who switched from smoking to improve their health. Vaping has helped countless people across Southampton and Hampshire quit cigarettes for good, and we see the positive results every day in our stores.

That said, we also recognise that regulation and taxation — when done properly — can help clean up the market. The duty stamp scheme should make it significantly harder for counterfeit and illicit products to reach consumers, and the parallel tobacco duty increase ensures vaping doesn’t become more expensive than smoking.

What matters most is that you continue to have access to quality products, honest advice, and fair prices. We’ll be transparent about any pricing changes as October approaches, and we’ll continue to offer the best deals and bundles we can to help you manage costs.

If you have questions about the incoming duty, want help choosing a more efficient device, or just want to understand your options, pop into any of our three stores or get in touch online. We’re here to help.

Frequently Asked Questions

When does the UK vape tax start?
The Vaping Products Duty takes effect on 1 October 2026. Business registrations open on 1 April 2026. There is a six-month grace period for existing unstamped stock, which ends on 31 March 2027.

How much is the vape tax?
It’s a flat rate of £2.20 per 10ml of vaping liquid (22p per ml), regardless of nicotine strength. VAT at 20% is then applied on top, making the real consumer impact approximately £2.64 per 10ml bottle.

Does the vape tax apply to nicotine-free e-liquid?
Yes. The duty applies to any liquid intended to be vapourised by a vape, regardless of whether it contains nicotine. Zero-nicotine e-liquid is taxed at the same rate.

Are vape devices and coils taxed?
No. VPD applies only to vaping liquids. Hardware including devices, coils, empty pods, batteries, and chargers are all exempt.

Will smoking become cheaper than vaping?
No. The government is increasing tobacco duty by an equivalent amount on the same date to maintain the price gap. Vaping will remain significantly cheaper than smoking.

What are Vaping Duty Stamps?
Physical stamps with digital traceability features that must be attached to every vaping product sold at retail in the UK. They work like the tax stamps on cigarette packets, helping consumers identify legitimate products and helping authorities tackle counterfeit goods. All products must carry stamps by 1 April 2027.

Will prefilled pods be affected?
Yes, but minimally compared to larger bottles. A standard 2ml prefilled pod will attract approximately 53p in additional costs (44p duty + VAT). This makes prefilled systems like the OXVA SlimStick and Dojo Blast 10K among the most cost-predictable options after the tax.

Can I mix my own e-liquid to avoid the duty?
You can legally mix duty-paid liquids together for personal use — for example, adding a duty-paid nic shot to a duty-paid shortfill. However, mixing non-duty-paid ingredients to produce vaping liquid for sale without HMRC approval will be illegal from 1 October 2026. Raw VG and PG purchased as non-vaping ingredients may sit outside the duty’s scope, but this area is still being clarified.

What’s the best way to save money after the tax?
Consider switching to a more efficient device like a refillable pod kit, which uses less liquid per day than sub-ohm setups. Higher-strength nic salts also help, since you vape less liquid to get the same nicotine satisfaction. Prefilled pod systems offer the smallest per-unit price increase. And keep an eye on our deals page — we’ll continue to offer the best value we can.

Where can I read the official government guidance?
The full policy paper is available on GOV.UK: Introduction of Vaping Products Duty from 1 October 2026. For preparation guidance, search “prepare for vaping duty” on GOV.UK.

This article was published in February 2026 and is based on confirmed information from HMRC and GOV.UK. We’ll update this page as any further details are announced. How to Find the Best Online Vape Shop in the UK: Your 2026 Checklist

With hundreds of online vape shops now competing for your attention, finding one you can actually trust isn’t as straightforward as it should be. Since the UK disposable vape ban came into effect in June 2025, the online vape market has shifted dramatically — and unfortunately, not every retailer selling vapes online has kept up with the new regulations.

Whether you’re ordering your first refillable pod kit, stocking up on nic salts, or looking for the best deals on shortfill e-liquids, knowing what separates a trustworthy online vape shop from a dodgy one could save you money, hassle, and potentially your health.

Here’s what to look for — and what to avoid — when buying vapes online in the UK in 2026.

Why More UK Vapers Are Shopping Online

The shift from disposables to refillable systems has changed the way people buy vaping products. Instead of grabbing a disposable from a corner shop, vapers now need pod kits, replacement coils, pods, and regular e-liquid supplies. That’s a lot easier to manage through an online vape store where you can browse everything in one place, compare prices, and have it delivered to your door.

Online vape shops also tend to offer better prices than the high street. Multi-buy deals — like getting 4 nic salts for £10 or buying 2 shortfills and getting a 3rd for £3 — are far more common online and can make a real difference to your monthly vaping costs.

But convenience and price shouldn’t come at the expense of safety and quality. Not all online vape retailers are created equal, and it pays to know what you’re looking for.

The 8-Point Checklist for Choosing a UK Online Vape Shop

1. Check They’re a Legitimate UK-Based Business

This is the most important thing on the list. A legitimate UK online vape shop should have a verifiable UK business address, a company registration number, and clear contact details — not just a contact form. If you can’t find a phone number, email address, or physical location, that’s a red flag.

Retailers with physical stores as well as an online presence are generally a safer bet. It means they’ve invested in proper premises, trained staff, and have a reputation to maintain in their local community. You can usually call them for advice before buying, which is something a faceless warehouse operation can’t offer.

2. Verify TPD Compliance

Every vape product sold legally in the UK must comply with the Tobacco Products Directive (TPD). This means e-liquids containing nicotine are limited to 10ml bottles with a maximum strength of 20mg/ml, tanks are capped at 2ml capacity, and all products must be registered with the MHRA (Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency).

A trustworthy online vape shop will state clearly that their products are TPD compliant. If a site is selling oversized nicotine e-liquid bottles, unregistered brands, or products with no English labelling, walk away. These products haven’t been through the safety testing required by UK law, and you have no guarantee of what’s actually inside them.

3. Look for Authentic, Recognisable Brands

The best online vape shops in the UK stock products from well-known, trusted manufacturers. Brands like OXVA, Vaporesso, Voopoo, and Uwell for devices, and Vampire Vape, Mix Labs, and IVG for e-liquids, are popular for good reason — they’re established, regulated, and consistently deliver quality products.

Be cautious of sites selling brands you’ve never heard of at prices that seem too good to be true. Counterfeit vaping products are a genuine problem in the UK, and the health risks of using fake or unregulated vapes are serious. Legitimate retailers source their stock directly from manufacturers or authorised UK distributors.

4. Read Real Customer Reviews

Google reviews, Trustpilot ratings, and verified review platforms like Trustindex are your best friends here. Look for consistent, genuine feedback — not just five-star ratings with no detail. Pay attention to what people say about product quality, delivery times, and how the shop handles problems.

A handful of negative reviews isn’t necessarily a dealbreaker (every business gets them), but how the shop responds to complaints says a lot. Do they engage professionally and try to resolve issues, or do they ignore unhappy customers?

5. Check Delivery Options and Speed

Running out of coils or e-liquid is frustrating, so delivery speed matters. The best UK online vape shops offer next-day delivery, and many provide free shipping once you hit a minimum spend. Check whether they dispatch on weekends too — if you order on a Friday evening, you don’t want to wait until Tuesday for your vape supplies.

Also look at how orders are packaged. Discreet, well-packaged deliveries show that a retailer takes care with their service. E-liquid bottles arriving loose in an oversized box with no protection isn’t a great sign.

6. Look for Proper Age Verification

UK law requires all online vape retailers to verify that customers are over 18. If an online vape shop lets you buy without any form of age check — no ID verification at checkout, no delivery confirmation — they’re operating illegally. This isn’t just a minor oversight; it’s a clear indicator that the business isn’t following regulations, which raises questions about what else they’re cutting corners on.

Reputable retailers use third-party age verification systems at checkout. It takes a few extra seconds, but it’s a sign you’re dealing with a responsible business.

7. Evaluate the Range and Product Information

A good online vape shop doesn’t just list products — it helps you make informed decisions. Look for detailed product descriptions that include specifications like battery capacity, coil resistance, pod capacity, and compatible e-liquids. If a site just shows a photo and a price with no useful information, it’s not set up to genuinely help you.

The range itself matters too. A curated selection of quality products from trusted brands is often more useful than an overwhelming catalogue of 15,000 items. Some of the best vape shops deliberately choose not to stock everything on the market, instead focusing on products their staff have actually tested and can recommend with confidence.

It also helps if the shop categorises products clearly. Being able to browse by vaping style — MTL (mouth-to-lung) vs DTL (direct-to-lung) — or by product type, like starter kits, prefilled pod devices, or e-liquids by flavour, makes finding the right product much quicker.

8. Check for Customer Support and Expert Advice

Vaping can be confusing, especially if you’re new to it or transitioning from disposables. The best online vape shops have knowledgeable staff you can actually speak to — by phone, email, or live chat — who can help you choose the right device, nicotine strength, and e-liquid for your needs.

This is another area where retailers with physical stores alongside their online shop have an advantage. Their staff deal with real customers face-to-face every day, answering questions and troubleshooting problems. That hands-on experience translates into much better online support compared to a warehouse-only operation where the team may never have actually used the products they’re selling.

What to Buy First: A Quick Guide for Online Vape Shoppers

If you’re new to ordering vapes online, here’s a quick breakdown of what most vapers need:

If you’re switching from smoking or disposables: Start with a refillable pod kit — they’re simple to use, compact, and give you the closest experience to a cigarette or disposable. Pair it with nic salt e-liquids in 10mg or 20mg strength for a smooth, satisfying hit. If you prefer zero hassle, prefilled pod devices are the easiest option — just pop in a new pod when the old one runs out.

If you’re an experienced vaper: You probably already know what device you like, so focus on finding a shop with good prices on your regular coils, replacement pods, and e-liquids. Multi-buy deals and bundle offers can save you a significant amount over the course of a year.

If you’re not sure what you need: Look for a shop that offers device package deals — these usually bundle a kit with compatible e-liquids and spare pods or coils, so you’ve got everything you need in one order.

Red Flags: When to Avoid an Online Vape Shop

To keep this practical, here are the warning signs that should make you close the tab and look elsewhere:

No verifiable UK address or contact details — if you can’t find out who you’re actually buying from, don’t risk it.

Prices that are suspiciously low — if a site is selling branded products at half the price of every other retailer, the products may not be genuine.

No age verification at checkout — this means the retailer isn’t following UK law.

Products that don’t look right — misspelt labels, missing MHRA registration numbers, or packaging that looks different from what you’d see in a reputable shop.

No clear returns or refund policy — legitimate businesses are transparent about what happens if something goes wrong.

Selling products that are illegal in the UK — since June 2025, single-use disposable vapes are banned. Any site still selling them is breaking the law, and you could face issues at delivery too.

Why Physical Stores and Online Shops Aren’t an Either/Or Choice

One of the biggest advantages of buying from a vape retailer that has both physical stores and an online shop is that you get the best of both worlds. You can pop into a store to try flavours, get advice, and have your device set up — then reorder your supplies online whenever you need them.

At White Vape Co, for example, we run three stores in the Southampton area (Totton, Hythe, and Holbury) alongside our online vape shop with UK-wide delivery. Our staff test every product we stock, which means whether you’re browsing online or chatting to us in-store, you’re getting genuine recommendations from people who actually vape.

As an official Smoke Free Hampshire partner, we also provide free quit-smoking support and can connect you with local stop smoking services — something you won’t find at a purely online warehouse operation.

Making Your Money Go Further Online

Once you’ve found a trustworthy online vape shop, there are a few ways to get more value from your orders:

Take advantage of multi-buy deals. Most online vape shops offer mix-and-match discounts on e-liquids. Stocking up on nic salts or shortfills in bulk is almost always cheaper per bottle than buying one at a time.

Join rewards programmes. Many retailers run loyalty schemes where you earn points on every purchase. Over time, these add up to genuine savings — especially if you’re a regular buyer.

Buy consumables in advance. Coils and pods are the things you’ll replace most often. Ordering a few spares each time means you’re never caught short, and you’ll often hit free delivery thresholds more easily.

Look for device bundles. Buying a kit, e-liquid, and spare pods together in a package deal is nearly always better value than buying each item separately.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it safe to buy vapes online in the UK?

Yes, provided you buy from a legitimate, UK-based retailer that sells TPD-compliant products and uses proper age verification. Stick to established shops with verifiable business details, genuine customer reviews, and products from recognised brands. Avoid unregulated sellers on social media marketplaces.

What’s the best online vape shop in the UK?

The best online vape shop depends on your priorities. If you value expert advice, curated product quality, and the option to visit a physical store, look for a retailer that combines online shopping with real-world expertise. Check for TPD compliance, authentic brands, good customer reviews, and responsive customer support. A rewards programme and competitive multi-buy deals are a bonus.

How quickly can I get vapes delivered in the UK?

Most reputable UK online vape shops offer next-day delivery, typically free on orders over £20–£30. Some dispatch seven days a week, while others only dispatch on weekdays. Check the retailer’s delivery page before ordering, especially if you need supplies urgently.

Do I need ID to buy vapes online?

Yes. UK law requires all buyers of vaping products to be over 18, and legitimate online retailers use age verification systems at checkout. You may need to confirm your identity through a third-party verification service. This is a legal requirement and a sign that the retailer is operating responsibly.

Can I return vapes bought online?

Under UK consumer law, you generally have the right to return online purchases within 14 days for a refund. However, for hygiene reasons, opened e-liquids and used devices may not be eligible for return. Check the retailer’s returns policy before buying — a clear, fair policy is a good indicator of a trustworthy shop.

Are vapes cheaper online than in shops?

Generally, yes. Online vape shops typically offer lower prices than high street retailers due to lower overheads, and multi-buy deals on e-liquids can bring the cost per bottle down significantly. However, the cheapest option isn’t always the best — make sure you’re comparing like-for-like with genuine, TPD-compliant products.

What should I order if I’m new to vaping?

If you’re just starting out, a starter kit or simple pod kit paired with nic salt e-liquids is the easiest way to begin. Many online shops offer device bundle deals that include everything you need. If you’re unsure, choose a retailer where you can call or message for personalised advice before placing your order.

swish 100ml shortfill eliquid

Swish 100ml Shortfills by Mix Labs: The Complete UK Guide to All 8 Flavours

The Swish range by Mix Labs has already made waves as a nic salt — but now it’s arrived in 100ml shortfill bottles, and it’s a game-changer for anyone who loves these flavours but wants better value and full control over their nicotine strength.

If you’ve already tried the Swish nic salt range and fell in love with those candy-twist flavour profiles, the 100ml shortfills deliver exactly the same taste in a much bigger bottle — with room to add your own nicotine shots to dial in your preferred strength. And here’s the detail that sets Swish apart from almost every other 100ml shortfill on the market: it’s a 50/50 VG/PG blend, not the usual 70/30. That means it’s built for pod kits and MTL devices, not just sub-ohm setups.

In this guide, we’ll break down all 8 Swish 100ml shortfill flavours, explain how the 50/50 shortfill format works, and help you pick the right ones for your setup.

What Makes Swish 100ml Shortfills Different?

Most 100ml shortfills on the UK market use a 70/30 VG/PG ratio, which is designed for sub-ohm, direct-to-lung vaping. That’s fine if you’ve got a big mod and a cloud-chasing tank, but it’s not ideal for the millions of vapers using pod kits and starter kits for mouth-to-lung (MTL) vaping.

Swish 100ml shortfills solve that problem. The 50/50 blend delivers a smooth, flavour-forward vape that works brilliantly in low-wattage MTL devices while still performing well in DTL setups and sub-ohm tanks. You get the cost savings of a 100ml bottle without having to compromise on device compatibility. For pod kit users who go through a lot of juice, this is the format you’ve been waiting for.

How Do Swish 100ml Shortfills Work?

Each Swish 100ml shortfill comes in a 120ml bottle — the extra 20ml of space is for adding nicotine shots. The e-liquid itself is 0mg (nicotine-free), and you customise the strength by adding your own nic shots:

Add two 18mg freebase nic shots to get approximately 3mg nicotine strength in 120ml of e-liquid. That’s the most popular combination and gives you a smooth, satisfying vape for MTL use. If you want a different strength, use our free nic shot calculator to work out exactly how many shots you need.

You can also add nic salt shots instead of freebase if you prefer a smoother throat hit at slightly higher strengths — our calculator covers that too.

Swish 100ml vs Swish 10ml Nic Salts: Which Should You Choose?

Both formats use exactly the same flavour profiles, so the taste is identical. The choice comes down to convenience versus value:

The 10ml nic salts are ready to vape straight out of the bottle — no mixing, no nic shots, just fill and go. They’re available in 10mg and 20mg strengths and are included in our 4 for £12 nic salt deal. They’re perfect if you want convenience, higher nicotine strengths, or you’re new to the range and want to try individual flavours before committing to a bigger bottle.

The 100ml shortfills offer significantly better value per ml of e-liquid. At £15.99 per bottle — and with our Buy 2 Get 3rd for £3 shortfill deal — the cost per ml drops dramatically compared to buying 10ml bottles. They’re the smarter choice if you’ve already found your favourite Swish flavours and want to stock up, or if you prefer vaping at lower nicotine strengths like 3mg.

Mixed Berry Chill Swish 100ml

Nerd Berg Swish 100ml

Nerd Berg Swish Mix labs 100ml 50/50Tangy rainbow candy meets cool menthol in what’s essentially a Heisenberg-style vape with the Swish candy-coated treatment. It’s like sipping an ice-cold glass of fresh orange lemonade — refreshing, sweet enough to satisfy, but with enough citrus sharpness to stop it feeling cloying. Another brilliant option for citrus lovers.

Strawberry Lime Swish 100ml

Strawberry Lime Swish from mix labs 100mlSweet, ripe strawberry pairs with sharp, zesty lime in a flavour that’s both fruity and refreshing. The strawberry provides a soft, natural sweetness on the inhale, while the lime cuts through with a clean, tangy edge that prevents it from becoming one-dimensional. The candy twist rounds everything off into a smooth, satisfying all-day vape. A crowd-pleaser that’s hard not to like.

Best Devices for Swish 100ml Shortfills

Because Swish 100ml shortfills use a 50/50 VG/PG ratio, they’re genuinely versatile across device types. That said, they’re at their best in MTL setups where the balanced blend delivers maximum flavour clarity.

Our top recommendations are the same devices we suggest for the nic salt versions. The OXVA Xlim Go 2 is compact, reliable, and delivers excellent flavour from 50/50 e-liquids. The adjustable airflow lets you fine-tune your draw, and the 1000mAh battery gives you a full day from a single charge. For more versatility, the OXVA Xlim 3 Ultra offers adjustable wattage and a larger battery, making it ideal if you want more control.

If you’re completely new to refillable vaping, the Aspire PockeX Box Kit is a fantastic entry point. Simple to use, reliable, and perfectly suited to 50/50 e-liquids.

Which Swish 100ml Flavour Should You Try First?

With 8 flavours to choose from, here’s a quick guide based on what you usually enjoy:

Fruity and refreshing: Start with Cherry Watermelon or Strawberry Lime — both are crowd-pleasers with familiar fruit profiles elevated by the Swish twist.

Cool and icy: Mixed Berry Chill delivers that satisfying menthol hit alongside its berry blend, while Mojito offers cooling mint with zesty citrus.

Sweet and candy-style: Grape Gummy Bear and Nerd Berg are made for you — bold, unapologetically sweet, and packed with candy character.

Citrus and drinks-inspired: Orange Lemonade and Kiwi Lemon capture refreshing citrus and beverage profiles with impressive authenticity.

Best value: Take advantage of our Buy 2 Get 3rd for £3 shortfill deal and grab three bottles to try across different flavour styles.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Swish 100ml shortfill e-liquid?

Swish 100ml shortfill is a premium e-liquid range by Mix Labs, available in 8 candy-twist flavours. Each bottle contains 100ml of nicotine-free e-liquid in a 120ml bottle, with space to add two nicotine shots to reach your preferred strength. Unlike most 100ml shortfills, Swish uses a 50/50 VG/PG ratio, making it ideal for pod kits and MTL devices.

What VG/PG ratio are Swish 100ml shortfills?

Swish 100ml shortfills use a 50/50 VG/PG blend. This is unusual for a 100ml shortfill — most use 70/30 — and means the Swish range works brilliantly in pod kits, starter kits, and MTL devices as well as DTL setups. You get the cost savings of a big bottle without sacrificing device compatibility.

How many nic shots do I add to Swish 100ml?

Add two 10ml nicotine shots to create 120ml of e-liquid. Two 18mg freebase nic shots give you approximately 3mg nicotine strength, which is the most popular choice. You can also use nic salt shots for a smoother throat hit. Use the free nic shot calculator on our website for exact figures at different strengths.

Are Swish 100ml shortfills the same flavours as the nic salts?

Yes — the 100ml shortfills use exactly the same flavour profiles as the Swish 10ml nic salts. The taste is identical across both formats. The difference is the bottle size, the nicotine setup (shortfills are 0mg and you add your own nic shots), and the value per ml. Read our full Swish nic salt review for detailed tasting notes on every flavour.

What flavours are available in the Swish 100ml range?

The full range includes 8 flavours: Cherry Watermelon, Grape Gummy Bear, Kiwi Lemon, Mixed Berry Chill, Mojito, Nerd Berg, Orange Lemonade, and Strawberry Lime. Each one features the signature Swish candy-coated twist that sets them apart from standard fruit e-liquids.

What devices work best with Swish 100ml shortfills?

The 50/50 VG/PG ratio makes Swish shortfills ideal for pod kits like the OXVA Xlim Go 2 and OXVA Xlim 3 Ultra, starter kits like the Aspire PockeX Box, and any MTL device. They also work well in DTL devices and sub-ohm tanks, making them genuinely versatile across all vaping styles.

How much are Swish 100ml shortfills?

Each Swish 100ml shortfill is priced at £15.99. They’re also included in our Buy 2 Get 3rd for £3 shortfill deal, so you can pick up three bottles for £34.98. Nicotine shots are sold separately from £1.25 each.

Are nic shots included with Swish 100ml shortfills?

No, nicotine shots are sold separately. Each 100ml shortfill comes in a 120ml bottle with space for two 10ml nic shots. We stock a range of nic shot options including 50/50, 70/30, 100% VG, 100% PG, ice shots, and nic salt shots from just £1.25 each.

Can I use Swish 100ml shortfills in a pod kit?

Absolutely — and this is one of the key advantages of Swish shortfills. The 50/50 VG/PG ratio is specifically suited to pod kits and low-wattage MTL devices. Most 100ml shortfills are 70/30 VG/PG, which can cause wicking issues and muted flavour in pod kits. Swish doesn’t have that problem.

Where can I buy Swish 100ml shortfills?

The full Swish 100ml range is available online at White Vape Co with UK-wide delivery, or in person at our three stores in Totton, Hythe, and Holbury, Southampton. Our staff are always happy to help you choose the right flavours and devices.

heisenberg and pinkman eliquids by vampire vape - why so successful

The UK’s Most Iconic E-Liquid Flavours: Why Heisenberg and Pinkman Still Dominate

If you’ve been vaping for any length of time in the UK, you’ll almost certainly have heard of Heisenberg and Pinkman. Created by Vampire Vape, these two flavours have become more than just popular e-liquids — they’ve become cultural touchstones in the vaping world. Walk into virtually any vape shop in the country, from independent retailers to major chains, and you’ll find at least one version of each sitting on the shelf. That kind of staying power in an industry that moves as quickly as vaping is nothing short of remarkable.

But what exactly makes Heisenberg and Pinkman so special? Why have they endured while thousands of other e-liquid flavours have come and gone? And how have these classic recipes evolved to meet the demands of a new generation of vapers who cut their teeth on disposables? In this guide, we’re diving deep into the story behind the UK’s two most famous e-liquids, the flavour profiles that made them legends, and the many brands that have tried to capture their magic.

Heisenberg: The Flavour That Changed Everything

What Does Heisenberg Taste Like?

Heisenberg is often described as the “Daddy of all day vapes,” and that reputation is well earned. The exact recipe remains a closely guarded secret — Vampire Vape has never officially disclosed the full flavour breakdown — but the profile is unmistakable to anyone who has tried it. At its core, Heisenberg delivers a complex blend of mixed fruits layered with subtle aniseed notes and finished with a cool, crystal menthol kick.

The genius of Heisenberg lies in its balance. The fruity elements — widely believed to include blueberry, blackcurrant, and other dark berries — provide sweetness without being cloying. The aniseed adds a savoury depth that prevents the flavour from becoming just another fruit blend, while the menthol finish cleanses the palate and leaves you reaching for another hit. It’s this combination of complexity, balance, and refreshment that makes Heisenberg genuinely different from the thousands of mixed fruit e-liquids on the market.

The cooling element is particularly noteworthy. Unlike many menthol and ice e-liquids that hit you over the head with frostiness, Heisenberg’s cool finish is refined and measured. It enhances the fruit rather than masking it, making it suitable for all-day vaping without the menthol fatigue that stronger ice blends can cause.

What Formats Is Heisenberg Available In?

Vampire Vape has expanded Heisenberg across virtually every e-liquid format to ensure there’s a version for every type of vaper:

  • Heisenberg 10ml Freebase — The original format in a 50/50 PG/VG blend, available in multiple nicotine strengths (0mg, 3mg, 6mg, 12mg, 18mg). Perfect for MTL devices and starter kits.
  • Heisenberg Nic Salt 10ml — The smoother nicotine salt version in 10mg and 20mg strengths, designed for pod kits and ideal for ex-smokers and vapers transitioning from disposables.
  • Heisenberg Koncept 100ml Shortfill — A 70/30 VG/PG version in Vampire Vape’s premium Koncept range, supplied as 0mg with space for two nic shots. Great for DTL devices and bigger cloud production.
  • Heisenberg Koncept 50ml Shortfill — The same Koncept recipe in a smaller bottle with room for one nic shot.
  • Heisenberg Concentrate — For DIY mixers who want to create their own custom blends using the iconic flavour as a base.

This range means whether you’re using a simple draw-activated pod kit or a powerful sub-ohm mod, there’s a Heisenberg for you. If you’re unsure which nicotine strength to pair with your shortfill, our nic shot calculator makes it easy to work out exactly how many shots you need.

Pinkman: The Fruity Counterpart

What Does Pinkman Taste Like?

If Heisenberg is the cool, mysterious one, Pinkman is the bright, bold partner in crime. Where Heisenberg leans into menthol and aniseed complexity, Pinkman is an unapologetic celebration of ripe, sun-kissed fruits. The flavour profile centres on a blend of strawberry, raspberry, and other mixed fruits that delivers a sweet, tangy, and thoroughly satisfying vape from the first puff to the last.

Pinkman’s appeal lies in its vibrancy. The berry and fruit notes are punchy and well-defined without tasting artificial, and there’s a natural sweetness that doesn’t leave a sugary coating on your coils. It’s the kind of flavour that’s immediately accessible — you don’t need a refined palate to appreciate it, yet it has enough depth to keep experienced vapers coming back. Many vapers describe it as their perfect summer vape, though in truth it’s just as enjoyable year-round.

Like Heisenberg, the exact Pinkman recipe has never been fully disclosed. This air of mystery has only added to the flavour’s cult status, with vapers endlessly debating what fruits are actually in the mix. What’s universally agreed is that Pinkman delivers a clean, bright, all-day fruit vape that never becomes overwhelming.

What Formats Is Pinkman Available In?

Pinkman mirrors Heisenberg’s format availability, ensuring every vaper can enjoy it:

  • Pinkman 10ml Freebase — Available in standard nicotine strengths with a 50/50 PG/VG ratio, ideal for MTL vaping.
  • Pinkman Nic Salt 10ml — Smooth nicotine salt delivery in 10mg and 20mg, perfect for pod kits. Available in our 4 for £10 nic salt deals.
  • Pinkman Koncept 100ml Shortfill — The same premium Koncept recipe in a larger bottle, with space for two nic shots. Part of our Buy 2 Get 3rd for £3 shortfill deal.
  • Pinkman Concentrate — For DIY enthusiasts looking to mix their own custom creations.

Why Have Heisenberg and Pinkman Been So Successful?

The UK vaping market has seen thousands of e-liquid flavours launched since the industry took off in the early 2010s. The vast majority have disappeared within a year or two. So what’s different about Heisenberg and Pinkman? Several factors have combined to create what are arguably the two most recognisable e-liquid names in the country.

Timing and First-Mover Advantage

Vampire Vape launched both flavours during a period when the UK vaping market was still relatively young. Early adopters were hungry for flavours that went beyond basic tobacco and menthol, and Heisenberg and Pinkman offered something genuinely new. The mysterious, pop-culture-inspired names were instantly memorable — a smart bit of branding that helped them stand out on increasingly crowded shelves.

The Perfect All-Day Vapes

Many e-liquids taste fantastic for the first few puffs but become tiresome over a full day. Both Heisenberg and Pinkman were specifically crafted to avoid this problem. Their balanced flavour profiles — complex enough to stay interesting, but never overpowering — make them true all-day vapes. This reliability is why so many vapers have stuck with these flavours for years rather than constantly chasing the next new release.

Consistency and Quality

Vampire Vape manufactures all its e-liquids in-house at its Blackburn facility, using pharmaceutical-grade ingredients and maintaining rigorous quality control. Every bottle of Heisenberg or Pinkman tastes exactly the same as the last, which builds the kind of trust and loyalty that translates into repeat purchases. In an industry where some brands outsource production and quality can vary between batches, this consistency is a genuine competitive advantage.

Word of Mouth and Community

Perhaps the biggest factor in their success has been organic word of mouth. When a vaper finds a flavour they love, they tell their friends. When a vape shop owner finds a flavour that consistently satisfies customers, they recommend it to new vapers walking through the door. Heisenberg and Pinkman have benefited from this virtuous cycle for over a decade, creating a self-reinforcing reputation that marketing budgets alone could never buy.

The Brands That Created Their Own Versions

The ultimate measure of a flavour’s success is how many other brands try to replicate it. By that standard, Heisenberg and Pinkman are in a league of their own. Dozens of UK e-liquid manufacturers have released their own interpretations, often under thinly veiled names that leave no doubt about the inspiration. Here are some of the most notable:

Heisenberg-Inspired Flavours

The Heisenberg flavour profile — mixed fruits, aniseed, cool menthol — has been widely imitated across the industry. You’ll find versions from brands including:

  • IVG — Known for producing “Blue” and “Blueberg” flavours that capture the mixed fruit and menthol combination, available in both nic salt and shortfill formats. Check out the full nic salt range at White Vape Co.
  • Doozy Vape — The Doozy range includes several fruity menthol blends that draw clear inspiration from the Heisenberg profile, available in their Seriously Salty and Seriously Nice lines.
  • Mix Labs — Their “Mad Blue” nic salt is widely recognised as a Heisenberg-style flavour, delivering that same blue mixed fruit and menthol combination in a 50/50 format designed for pod kits. Available in our 4 for £12 nic salt deals.
  • Bar Juice / Bar Series — Multiple bar-style nic salt brands have produced “Blue” and “Blue Razz Ice” variants that echo the Heisenberg flavour in the stronger, sweeter style preferred by ex-disposable users.
  • Pod Salt — Their mixed fruit and menthol options sit firmly in the Heisenberg-inspired category, offering smooth nic salt delivery.
  • Riot Squad — Blue Burst and similar flavours from Riot Squad’s range capture the essence of the Heisenberg profile with their own twist.

Pinkman-Inspired Flavours

The bright, fruity Pinkman profile has proven equally irresistible for other manufacturers:

  • IVG — Several fruity blends in IVG’s range target the same mixed berry and fruit combination that defines Pinkman.
  • Doozy Vape — Doozy’s fruit-forward nic salts and shortfills include profiles reminiscent of Pinkman’s vibrant berry-fruit blend.
  • Mix Labs — Flavours like “Pink Lemonade” and various mixed berry options offer a similar bright, fruity vaping experience at great value.
  • Imp Jar — Their mixed fruit and berry nic salts draw from the same fruity territory that made Pinkman a household name.

The sheer number of Heisenberg and Pinkman-inspired flavours on the market is a testament to how deeply these two profiles have influenced UK vaping culture. But while many come close, most vapers will tell you that the originals from Vampire Vape still have the edge — and that’s why we continue to stock the full range at White Vape Co.

Evolving for the New Generation: Nic Salts and the Post-Disposable Market

The UK vaping landscape changed dramatically when disposable vapes exploded in popularity from around 2021 onwards, and changed again when the UK government banned single-use disposables in June 2025. These shifts created a whole new type of vaper — one accustomed to strong, bold, sweet flavours and high nicotine strengths delivered through simple, draw-activated devices.

The Nic Salt Revolution

For Heisenberg and Pinkman, the rise of nicotine salt e-liquids represented both a challenge and an opportunity. Traditional freebase nicotine versions of these flavours had served vapers well for years, but the new wave of ex-disposable users expected something different: smoother nicotine delivery at higher strengths (10mg and 20mg), compatibility with compact pod kits, and a 50/50 PG/VG ratio that works perfectly with lower-powered devices.

Vampire Vape responded by releasing both Heisenberg and Pinkman in nic salt formulations. These versions preserve the iconic flavour profiles while adapting them for the pod kit era. The nicotine salt delivery is noticeably smoother than freebase at the same strength, making higher nicotine levels comfortable and satisfying — exactly what someone switching from 20mg disposables needs.

Bolder, Sweeter, Stronger

The disposable generation brought different flavour expectations too. Where early vapers often preferred subtle, nuanced profiles, the new wave craved intensity. Disposable flavours were designed to hit hard and taste strong from the very first puff, and that set the benchmark for what new vapers considered “good” flavour.

This shift influenced the entire e-liquid market, including how brands like Vampire Vape approached their formulations. The nic salt versions of Heisenberg and Pinkman are noticeably punchier than their freebase counterparts — the flavour is dialled up to match the expectations of vapers who are used to the concentrated taste profiles of disposable-style juice. It’s the same DNA, but with the volume turned up.

If you’re making the switch from disposables to a refillable setup, pairing a quality pod kit with Heisenberg or Pinkman nic salts is one of the best ways to ensure a smooth transition. Our best vape starter kits guide for 2026 walks you through the top devices for beginners and switchers, and our device package deals bundle a kit with e-liquid for outstanding value.

How Vampire Vape Has Evolved Beyond Heisenberg and Pinkman

While Heisenberg and Pinkman remain the flagship flavours, Vampire Vape hasn’t been standing still. The brand has expanded its range significantly to cater for the evolving tastes of the modern vaping market, introducing new flavours and formats that reflect how the industry has changed.

The Koncept Range

Vampire Vape’s Koncept range takes their most popular flavours and presents them in premium 100ml shortfill bottles with a 70/30 VG/PG ratio. Beyond Heisenberg and Pinkman, the Koncept range includes flavours like All Day Grape, Blood Sukka, Catapult, and Rum Tobacco — each designed for DTL vaping with rich cloud production and bold flavour.

New Nic Salt Flavours

Recognising that the nic salt market has become the primary battleground for e-liquid sales in the UK, Vampire Vape has launched an expanding range of nic salt flavours beyond the original two. Flavours like Pineapple Dream, Purple Craze, and Passionfruit Splash have been developed specifically for the pod kit generation, with the bold, fruit-forward profiles that modern vapers prefer. These sit alongside the classic Heisenberg and Pinkman nic salts in a lineup that caters for every taste.

Manufacturing Excellence

Throughout this evolution, Vampire Vape has maintained its commitment to UK-based manufacturing. Every e-liquid is produced in their Blackburn facility using pharmaceutical-grade ingredients, with full TPD compliance and rigorous batch testing. It’s this consistency that gives vapers confidence — whether you’re buying a bottle of the original Heisenberg 10ml or trying their latest nic salt creation, you know exactly what you’re getting.

We’ll be exploring Vampire Vape’s full story in much more detail in an upcoming blog post — from their humble beginnings to becoming one of the UK’s most successful e-liquid manufacturers. Keep an eye on the Vampire Vape page at White Vape Co and our blog for the full brand deep-dive coming soon.

Heisenberg & Pinkman: Your Questions Answered

What flavour is Heisenberg by Vampire Vape?

Heisenberg is a complex blend of mixed fruits (believed to include blueberry and blackcurrant), subtle aniseed, and a refreshing cool menthol finish. The exact recipe is a closely guarded secret, which has only added to its mystique. It’s known as an all-day vape thanks to its perfectly balanced flavour profile. You can try the original Heisenberg 10ml or the premium Heisenberg 100ml Koncept shortfill at White Vape Co.

What flavour is Pinkman by Vampire Vape?

Pinkman is a vibrant, fruity e-liquid featuring a blend of strawberry, raspberry, and other mixed fruits. It delivers a sweet, tangy, and bright vaping experience without any menthol or cooling elements. Like Heisenberg, the full recipe has never been officially revealed. Try Pinkman in shortfill format or as a nic salt from the Vampire Vape collection.

Are Heisenberg and Pinkman available as nic salts?

Yes, both Heisenberg and Pinkman are available in nicotine salt formulations in 10mg and 20mg strengths. These are designed for use with pod kits and MTL devices, offering smoother nicotine delivery than freebase e-liquids at the same strength. They’re particularly popular with vapers transitioning from disposables. Browse our full nic salt collection.

What is the difference between Heisenberg freebase and Heisenberg nic salt?

The core flavour profile is the same, but there are important differences. Freebase Heisenberg uses standard nicotine and comes in a wider range of strengths (0mg–18mg), while the nic salt version uses nicotine salts for a smoother throat hit at higher strengths (10mg and 20mg). The nic salt version also has a 50/50 PG/VG ratio optimised for pod kits, whereas freebase versions are available in 50/50 for 10ml bottles and 70/30 for shortfills.

Which brands make Heisenberg and Pinkman-style flavours?

Many UK e-liquid brands have created their own interpretations of these iconic flavours. Notable examples include Mix Labs (Mad Blue), Doozy Vape, IVG, Pod Salt, Riot Squad, and Bar Juice. While some come impressively close, most vapers agree the originals from Vampire Vape remain the benchmark for quality and flavour accuracy.

What device should I use with Heisenberg or Pinkman e-liquid?

It depends on the format. For 10ml freebase and nic salt versions (50/50 PG/VG), a pod kit or starter kit is ideal — devices like the OXVA Xlim range pair brilliantly with these e-liquids. For shortfill versions (70/30 VG/PG), you’ll want a DTL device or sub-ohm tank. Our best starter kits guide for 2026 covers our top recommendations.

Are Heisenberg and Pinkman good for people switching from disposables?

Absolutely. The nic salt versions of both flavours deliver bold, satisfying flavour with smooth nicotine delivery at 10mg or 20mg — very similar to the experience you’d get from a disposable. Pair them with a simple draw-activated pod kit and you’ll barely notice the difference, except that you’ll save significant money and produce far less waste. Visit our stores in Totton, Hythe, or Holbury for personalised advice on making the switch.

Why is Heisenberg blue?

Heisenberg e-liquid has a distinctive blue colour, which has become part of its iconic identity. The name itself is a reference to the character Walter White from the TV series Breaking Bad, whose product was famously blue. This clever branding helped Heisenberg stand out on shelves and become one of the most recognisable e-liquids in the UK.

Can I mix Heisenberg with other e-liquids?

Yes! Many vapers enjoy mixing Heisenberg with other flavours to create custom blends. A popular combination is Heisenberg mixed with Pinkman for a fruity-menthol hybrid. If you use shortfills, you can also choose between standard freebase nic shots or nic salt shots to customise both the nicotine type and strength. Use our nic shot calculator to get your ratios right.
