Aspire Nautilus Coils: the 0.7 Ohm Nautilus 2 Coil and 1.6 and 1.8 Ohm BVC
Aspire Nautilus coils are the replacement heads for Aspire’s Nautilus family of mouth-to-lung tanks, five to a pack. We list three: the 0.7Ω Nautilus 2 coil and the 1.6Ω and 1.8Ω Nautilus BVC coils. BVC is Aspire’s name for its bottom vertical coil.
We’ve corrected this page. It used to give 10–14W for all three, which is Aspire’s figure for the 1.8Ω only. Aspire rates the 1.6Ω at 7–11W and the 0.7Ω at 18–23W, so the table below gives each coil its own range. Below that: which one to choose, the tanks they fit, and how to change one.

Which Tanks Take Aspire Nautilus Coils?
Aspire lists both BVC coils for the Nautilus Mini, Nautilus Nano, Nautilus 3, Nautilus 322, Nautilus 3S, Nautilus 3SR and Nautilus GT II, and adds the K3 tank for the 1.8Ω. The 0.7Ω Nautilus 2 coil is listed for the same tanks apart from the Nautilus Mini. The Nautilus 2 takes all three: Aspire’s Nautilus 2 FAQ names the 0.7Ω and 1.8Ω it ships with and says the 1.6Ω fits too. UK retailers also list the original Nautilus and the Nautilus 2S.

How to Change and Prime a Nautilus Coil
- Take the tank off your device and empty it.
- Unscrew the base and unscrew the old coil from it.
- Wet the cotton through the new coil’s side holes with a few drops of e-liquid, and add a drop to the top.
- Screw the new coil into the base, refit it and fill the tank.
- Leave it for about five minutes before your first puff, and start at the bottom of the coil’s wattage range.
How Long Does a Nautilus Coil Last?
Aspire doesn’t publish a coil life. At 10–14W the 1.8Ω works gently and tends to outlast the 0.7Ω, which runs at nearly twice the power. Sweet, dark or heavily sweetened e-liquids shorten any coil. Change it when the flavour dulls or turns bitter, rather than waiting for a burnt taste.
Nautilus Coil Troubleshooting

| Burnt taste from a new coil | It wasn’t primed, or wasn’t given long enough to soak. Prime the next one and wait five minutes. |
| Gurgling or spitting | Too much liquid in the coil, or the wattage is too low for the 0.7Ω. Take a few short draws without firing, then go up a watt or two. |
| Leaking from the base | The coil isn’t screwed in fully or a seal is missing. Check the O-rings on the coil and the base. |

Both carry the BVC name, which is why they get mixed up. Aspire sells them as separate coil platforms, so buy by the name of your tank.
Best E-Liquids for Nautilus Coils
On the 1.6Ω or 1.8Ω, use nic salts at 10mg or 20mg, or a 50/50 freebase e-liquid at 12mg to 18mg. On the 0.7Ω, go lower: a 50/50 freebase at 3mg to 6mg, or a 10mg salt if you want a stronger hit. Aspire doesn’t give a VG ratio for these coils, so that’s our guidance.
